Great staff, very friendly and helpful. This place is exactly what you expect a category 6 Starwood property to be! The location was a bit farther than I expected from sights, but that can be a good thing too as area is very very nice! Def recommend!

If you don't mind rude uncaring staff, over priced everything (breakfast over 30 euros each) out dated dirty rooms, then this might be for you. They do have a sense of humor though, they give you one free bottled water even though there are usually two people in a room. No free wi-fi in the room (that's an extra charge)... More

Hotel, rooms and service were all excellent. Great atmosphere in bar too. Only disappointment was the leisure facilities, looked very nice but both the pool and Jacuzzi were very cold and not all inviting.

Stayed 3 nights on biz after staying at another hotel earlier in the week on pleasure. A big disappointment. Very large historic hotel located across from US Embassy. Rooms were just OK and we could easily hear people talking and coughing in an adjacent room. Difficult to control temp. Service was good but there are MANY other better hotel choices... More

I'm staying at the hotel right now... its very tired. Its a bit like one of the grand hotels in Paris but its clearly not been refurbished for years and years. This was my fifth stay at the Westin in Rome. Although the hotel lacks some attention to detail at the front desk, the rooms are extremely comfortable which is sometimes hard to find in Italian hotels. The Westin "Heavenly" beds are heaven after a long day of traveling or sightseeing. The location is central to most attractions and the taxi... More

I spent a couple weeks a the Westin Excelsior. It is centrally located - you cant walk to many sites or, if you prefer, grab a cab. The staff was exceptional and the rooms were incredible. We were extremely disappointed with this hotel. The room was very nice and comfortable, but the fancy trappings mask a serious lack of service. The concierge staff is appallingly clueless, terse, and not very helpful, with a couple of exceptions, especially young Marcos, who was very polite, patient and helpful. Most of the others acted like they were annoyed when... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
