We had booked to stay for 2 nights at Hotel Fiamma for May 20th-21st. The hotel is close to the train station and subway station, about 5-10 min. walk. Upon our check in we were told that there was no hot water, and that our suitcases were too big for the rooms in the hotel (We had 2 20 inch...

Dear samm28, thanks for your review about our hotel. We are sorry for the issues we had but we assure you that the sister hotel is exactly the same as Fiamma hotel, and as you wrote it is very close to the original hotel.

+ Location. It was really close to termini and the public transport and a 20 min. walk from most of the monuments. + Staff. Its staff was helpful and kind. - The hotel needs a renovation as soon as possible. The breakfast room was dirty and the rooms were smelling. If i go to Rome again i wont stay there!

Nice place . Good food. Clean and pleasant. It is close to Termini station where you can take bus or subway. It is near to important poit af attraction from Rome. Pay attention to thieves. It's a lot of busy places where is possible to have unpleasant surprises.

Thanks for your positive opinion, we hope to host you again soon. The thieves remark does not refer to our hotel, but for outside places, the hotel is perfectly safe.

hotel was clean & tidy, The guy on reception was very friendly and took the time to mark out the quickest way to get to all the attractions on the map he provided. Ok the hotel looks a bit dated but we think it added to the charm & when a lorry went passed the pictures vibrated on the wall...

Dear wendy k c, thanks for your positive opinion about our location. The city tax is 4 euro per person per night, 8 euro for 2 people, we must collect it, it goes to the mayor's office.

This hotel was quite basic, room and breakfast adequate but not startling......the big plus was it's location just minutes from Termini and access to the city. We got off to a bad start with clothes being ruined by bleach left around the bathroom sink unit - something that is still not resolved. Breakfast was basic continental, only warm items were...

Dear Alison J, thanks for your positive review about our hotel even after your experience with the clothes, we will do our best to solve it. We serve continental breakfast which means hot beverages and cold buffet, if you wanted hot items for breakfast you should have booked a hotel with English breakfast. There isn't stated anywhere that the hotel...

Great Hotel. After arriving from the train station we easily found the hotel after a very short walk ~4 minutes, and were allowed to check-in early. It is a large hotel with numerous floors, however there is a lift which works fine (So long as people close the door!) The room was nice and a good size. The bed was...

This hotel was a real surprise! At first I was a bit sceptic because from outside it looks like nothing special but the inside is lovely and the hotel is not far away from the Termini station where the hop-on-hop-off bus tour starts. The room itself was spacious enough, had a wardrobe, AC (it's the best thing to have with...

Clean, comfortable, rather pretty room on fourth floor, quiet too. Nice size bathroom. Hotel is only 10 minute walk from main station and within walking distance of all main attractions - as long as you don't mind walking a fair bit. All the staff were friendly and helpful. When we first arrived the man on reception even sang Happy Birthday...

Average hotel in Rome if you're on a budget. The whole hotel looks like a time warp back to the 70's including the rooms (checkout the retro lift). Wallpapers in the room are peeling off in places, carpet was clean, curtains was clean, bed was clean but the towels in the bathroom smelled funny like it didn't wash completely. Breakfast...

Dear Kenny F, thanks for your review, we are sorry that you didn't like our classical refurbishment, almost all lifrts in Rome are like ours, others even more "ancient", you actually have to close the doors, it's part of the charme of the Eternal city, we are sorry you didn't appreciate it. We apologize that our staff didn't look friendly,...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
