I stayed at this hotel for four days in April and would not return. The beds are not comfortable and the sheets were not changed once during our 4 day stay. There is a club/bar near the hotel so you can hear a great deal of noise. The shower door is too small the water leaks out of the shower,...

I've just stayed at this hotel for one week. Overall I have a positive impression of this hotel. Central location, friendly staff, good breakfast. I don't know if other floors are affected as well, but I wish you good luck if you land on the 5th floor. This is where I had my room. My arms and shoulders are now...

Myself and my partner stayed at the Villafranca hotel between 12th March and 16th March as a treat for my 21st birthday. We booked through Thomas Cook and could not have had a better time! We arrived in the afternoon after a slight delay on our flight, and were greeted by a very friendly gentlemen who spoke English very well,...

Our 3 night stay coincided with my birthday and we were welcomed on arrival with a bottle of bubbly. A very nice touch. A few days before our trip I emailed the hotel to request a room with a balcony and also to ask for tea/coffee making facilities. We got both and although having a large balcony meant we had...

I thought this was an excellent choice me and my wife made staying here. Rooms - small but very clean. We had room 608 with a terrace. Would recommend. Service - very good. Breakfast - everything you require for the day ahead. Wifi connection - well we was on the 6th floor and had NO problem connecting. So come on...

We stayed at this hotel on a 4 night break, location was great as we were able to walk from Rome termini station in about 5 minutes. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff. Our room was on the 1st floor and although small was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, with almost everything you needed, (a kettle / teamaking...

We stayed at the Villafranca for three nights in February and posisbly because we had requested a double room rather than a twin, found the room a little small even by Roman standards. However, all we really needed was a base and breakfast so it was not a problem and the bed was very comfortable - we slept better than...

Just got back from three nights staying here with friends. We were given rooms 701 and 703 which were on the very top floor. 701 was overlooking the side of building with a very small balcony, but the views were pretty of rooftops. One issue for the room is the shower which is only a mixer tap over the bath...

Great location for a sight seeing trip to Rome as close to Termini station and metro. Had no issues with the hotel, reception staff were great. Asked for kettle in the room, it arrived in 5 min, problem with aircon not heating again fixed in minutes. In addition to the typical continental breakfast there were also scrambled eggs, bacon and...

Booked via travel agency, and found it as a quite nice hotel to stay. At first they gave me a single room near the elevator. It was dark and cramped. So I decided to ask for another room. Luckily, I got a twin bedroom which was more spacious. Did not get a view, but it was more comfortable.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
