This was our second stay at the Hotel Canada. We returned because of our excellent experienc e last year and we were not disappointed. Our room was wonderful and the service outstanding. The staff were pleasant and professional; breakfast was excellent and their happy hour is the best deal in Rome. You can't ask for a better location; within walking...

My partner and I stayed at this hotel in September for 4 nights after coming off a 12-day Mediterranean cruise on the Queen Victoria. We were looking for something inexpensive and clean so our expectations were more than met at the Best Western Canada. Our large room was furnished with antiques and marble, had a lovely terraced garden, a safe...

Our first trip to Rome and read a lot of reviews before choosing this hotel. It was an excellent choice. From the moment we arrived, the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Just a 5 minute walk from the Termini station and a few minutes from the closest metro station made it a very good location. Good, cheap places to...

It is difficult to find any criticism whatsoever of this charming and extremely well run small hotel in Rome. Every detail seems to have been covered beginning with a lovely and welcoming reception area, comfortable bar and seating area, all appearing to have been recently redecorated. Our hotel room left nothing to be desired. Even the ceilings were painted with...

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. I was travelling alone for a long weekend and this place was ideal. Just a short walk from Termini Station if you arrive here from the airport and then only 30 seconds from the nearest Metro. Plenty of local shops nearby if you need supplies. I found the staff here warm and...

We had a comfortable stay at B/W Canada. It is a 10 minute walk to Termini where you can catch Subway or hop on hop off buses .It might be a little far to walk if you have luggage . Beds were comfortable . Rooms large by European standards . Bathroom quite nice with large tub , shower and shower...

My husband and I spent 5 days at Hotel Canada for our first trip to Rome. The location is great - down the street from the main Metro station (Termini) and within walking distance of most major sites. All of Ancient Rome is walkable if you don't mind 20-30 minute walks, which we don't. The breakfast at this hotel was...

My wife and I stayed here for two days at the tail end of a 14 day European cruise based on other TripAdvisor reviews. The hotel is exactly what the reviews say - a great little hotel conveniently located that has a very friendly staff. We arrived early (9:45am) as we had to depart our cruise ship at 8am. The...

Stayed here during the last leg of my honeymoon in Europe. I spent A LOT of time researching hotels (price, rating, location, etc) and ultimately, decided this hotel offered the best combination of criteria. It's not a trendy hotel by any means, with a quaint little lobby and a tiny receptionist desk. We arrived on the train from Florence a...

My first hotel experience in Rome was a nice one at the Hotel Canada. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful at the desk, as well as in the breakfast room where one of our servers had made an apple breakfast cake that was outstanding, and there was a nice variety of other food. The front desk's staff knew English more than...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In an elegant period palazzo in the centre of Rome, the Hotel Canada represents the fruit of the experience of generations of hoteliers and a tradition of hospitality that renews itself every day. A recent refurbishment has rediscovered the original architecture of the building housing the hotel - constructed in 1870 to provide accommodation for officers from the nearby barracks of Castro Pretorio The Hotel Canada is easily reachable from the main central station "Termini" (circa 400 m) and well connected with both airports of Rome, Leonardo da Vinci/ Fiumicino and Ciampino. The Hotel Canada is located in a very comfortable position. Being close to the subway (Line B, Castro Pretorio's stop) allows every guest to reach the famous and touristic Rome downtown in just a few minutes. ... more   less
