So returned to this hotel after having fabulous stay last year.disappointed to say the least.room had no front view even after paying 3 times the amount since our last trip.no tea/coffee facilities which there was last year.reception staff disinterested we were returning guests.had breakfast once. they really need to change the menu.lobby bar still closed most of the time.roof top terrace bar staff were great.a classy place which now seems jaded.dont know why American male teenager thought it was fine to drape his feet on the chairs.they never did have any class across the pond.dont think will be rushing back anytime soon.

Staff were lovely...helpful and friendly. Room on 4th floor okay..very comfortable bed and great views ...but had to ask for tea/coffee facilities to get provided as there were none in the room. Roof bar okay...breakfast okay..basically an okay 3 star hotel which is overrated as a 4 star because of location. No bathrobes slippers or those extras which one expects in a 4* hotel in Europe.

This hotel has huge character and is well placed for getting to the main attractions, restaurants and bars on foot. The hotel has a great roof top bar - perfect for a night cap overlooking the forum. We only used the restaurant for breakfast. Good choice of cereals, pastries, cold meats etc. we didn’t try the hot food as it looked like it had been there a while. Dinner at the restaurant is expensive - probably x2 the cost of dinner elsewhere in the neighbourhood. It looked very formal too. We had a problem with the seal around the shower and reported it but it wasn’t fixed when we were there. Not a big issue just meant the bathroom floor got very wet. We were on the second floor and external noise wasn’t really a problem. We did hear furniture being moved after a wedding which was a bit disturbing. Also on the day of the wedding the roof top bar was being used for wedding guests and the hotel had no one to work the lobby bar for residents. Disappointing.

We have previously stayed at the Westin Excelsior and The Hassler but decided to try this hotel after we had a great meal here with a tour group in 2005. We felt it was a great location and we were right. Easy access to many of the important sites. We had the best experience and loved the staff. They were all so friendly, accommodating and always trying to make our stay better. We had a suite with a view and loved looking out over the Forum and Trajan’s Markets. Breakfast every morning was good - eggs, bacon, a variety of breads and pastries, fruit, yogurt and cereals. The hotel does have some dated furniture but it’s all in great condition and really adds to the hotel personality. It had a warm, friendly family feel to it. The staff at the front desk were very good at getting cabs for us and always welcomed us back after a long day of touring. Just an all around comfortable hotel with a welcoming staff. We were very satisfied and plan to return here for our next visit to Rome.

Stayed with my niece in a "Family Room" on the 3rd floor. The room provided the desired level of privacy while still staying together. The main bedroom was separated from the sitting room (that was setup with a pullout couch) by thick drapes allowing each of us to have our own space. The bathroom, that was through the sitting room, only had one sink, but was still large enough for two people to get ready at once. The room was complete with amenities such as kettle with instant coffee and tea, mini fridge with beverages, bathroom amenities including dental and shaving kits, bathrobe and slippers and nice large towels. The breakfast room with beautiful views all around was a great way to start the day. The breakfast offering was pleasant (not the largest spread but enough to start the day and save room for lots of other Italian food). We also enjoyed the rooftop bar, The American. Tasty table snacks were served with the drinks. The bartenders were friendly, and also happy to make creative cocktails not on the menu. As all reviews note, the hotel is in a great location. Really easy to get around and plenty of restaurants to enjoy at night. It is true that any hallway noise could easily be heard in the room, but given all of the other positive attributes to the hotel, I won't let that deter me from booking the hotel again.

Well located hotel, within walking distance of many cafes. Our room on the first floor was super small and sounds of people talking on the road was a nuisance so we had to keep the windows closed. The view from the bathroom was fabulous, it looked onto some old ruins which were lit up at night. The rooftop restaurant had friendly staff and good food but the view was nothing to rave about.

It’s the 2nd time we’ve stayed here and once again we had a wonderful time. The location of this hotel for all the popular tourist attractions is pretty much unbeatable with lots of lovely places to eat and drink literally on the doorstep. The hotel has a rooftop restaurant which is also used for breakfast, which boasts a beautiful view of the Forum. The old world charm and polite and efficient staff makes this hotel a great choice.

Superb location in the Monti district, next to the Imperial Forums and a five minute walk to the Colosseum. You'll find lots of good restaurants and eateries just walking out the door. The hotel also has a rooftop restaurant that we didn't try as it was quite expensive, but we very much enjoyed the breakfast served there; good foods peacefully enjoyed with a wonderful view gave us a perfect start of the day. The hotel is charming and many rooms have great views of the Forum and beyond. The hotel staff was very courteous and accommodating. We had a superior corner room on the top floor with an excellent view, but unfortunately it had a lot of sharp noises from the restaurant directly above. When we complained the front desk immediately gave us an equivalent room a few floors down, no questions asked. To be expected, but still worth mentioning. Would definitely stay here again.

What an amazing Hotel the Forum is, the staff are welcoming and professional from the front desk to housekeeping. We selected a room with a view and were on the 4th floor at the front where we could watch the hustle and bustle of the city. The room was a traditional Italian design with beautiful furniture a huge comfortable bed plenty of storage and was spotlessly clean. The roof terrace restaurant where breakfast was served has spectacular views over Rome, a perfect way to start the day. There is a large selection of breakfast items available from cereals, fruit, cheeses, cooked meat and breads also hot bacon and scrambled eggs and sweet treats all beautifully presented. The Forum is in a perfect position only a stone's throw from the sights. I would recommend the Hotel for your stay in Rome

Great location for exploring Rome by foot. Very friendly staff and lovely roof restaurant with roof top American Bar. Slightly 'oldy worldy' but the rooms are well presented and very clean. Would definitely stay here again.
