This is a 3 star hotel because you have to pay for water and the rooms are not modern at all but there is a TV – only Italian though. The shower is tiny and I don’t recall having hot water. No tea, coffee, robe or slippers you would expect from a 4 or 5 star hotel. Now the good points! Excellent location – walking distance to everywhere and the rooms are spotless and the bed is comfy! Very impressed with the cleanliness and you get strong Wi-Fi in and around the hotel. It’s fine to stay here for a long weekend / mini city break.

Stayed for 4 nights and couldn't have been happier with the hotel. Exceeded all expectations we had. Room was great, must have got one of the more modern rooms! Lots of space, comfy bed and the shower was great. All staff were friendly, letting us drop our bags off early on day of arrival so we could go explore and even took them up to the room for us once it was ready. Breakfast was great, the croissant selection was top tier! Even catered for my partner who is celiac and had options for him such as gluten free bread, cereal and biscuits! Would definitely stay here again if in Rome, got all you need from a hotel and is in walking distances to a lot of the sites and two minutes from a metro stop.

We stayed here for 3 nights as an early 40th birthday present for my partner. I upgraded to a superior room two weeks before departure - Dennis dealt with my upgrade (via email) and was very pleasant. The room was bigger than expected and beautiful. The breakfast options were good and delicious. Easy to find - about 10 minute walk from the Termini.

The reception staff is great. The hotel itself is not very modern, but the rooms are fully functional and bed is comfortable. Our room was bit dimly lit, but we were there for just one night. Bathroom with shower - all OK. Location is very good - walking distance from Termini station.

First, the location is pretty much perfect. It's right around the corner from Piazza della Repubblica, and within a short distance of Termini Station meaning you can get to most of the main sights really easily on the Metro, or walking. Even coming from the airport, it's super accessible. It couldn't be in a better location. My single room on the top floor was clean. It wasn't the most modern of rooms, but was perfectly functional. Hand soap and hair and body wash was included in the bathroom. There was a small fridge that was ideal for storing drinks. There's also a nice, modern TV. If you want to watch anything other than Italian TV, bring a HDMI cable for your laptop, or a streaming device. WiFi was close to gigabit speeds and was never an issue anywhere in the hotel. Finally, there's a small safe for your valuable, you won't be fitting a laptop or full-sized iPad in however. I did have a few issues with the room. Firstly, there's a distinct lack of plug sockets. There was one at the desk which was occupied by the fridge which I unplugged when I needed to charge my laptop. There was one other behind the curtains which wasn't ideal, another next to the bathroom door, and one by the bedside that was partially blocked by the lightswitch. If they refurb these rooms anytime soon, I'd suggest adding more sockets if possible. Secondly, the water pressure to the toilets was super low. On a couple of occasions, I couldn't flush the toilet as the tank took hours to refill, this could do with addressing urgently. Finally, the walls were a bit thin, and on one occasion, a couple of rowdy guests could be heard quite easily. However, in fairness, outside noise was minimal considering the city-centre location. I'd also suggest the hotel adds a way of calling reception from the room. There was a phone by the bedside, but no instructions on how to use it. All of the staff I encountered were super friendly and helpful, they were a credit to the hotel. I arrived from the airport 2 hours before my scheduled check-in time, and after being awake all night, I was eager for a nap. They let me check in straight away, it was a pleasant experience. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel was fantastic! The room was basic but spotlessly clean. The location was brilliant, the metro was 1 minute walk away. Dennis on reception was an absolute gem! His restaurant recommendation of La Familia was great and he was so helpful with everything! Would 100% stay here again.

We got in late and the front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly. They set us up with the yellow suite on the first floor which was surprisingly big! The bed was comfy, the washroom was big with a nice shower and the room stayed very quiet. We had to ask for mugs for our kettle every evening but they were very quick to get them for us to bring to our room. The only downside was that the room was a little too warm for us in December but considering the price we paid we are very happy and hope to be back at the Hotel Patria one day! The hotel is located in a very walkable area with many good restaurants, bakeries, shops and gelato places within a 15 minute walk. The big attractions also were not too far away and we could make it to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and all kinds of Piazzas in under half an hour walking. Bus 64 which goes to the Vatican City stops about 100 m away from the hotel and Roma Termini Station to get to the airport and other cities in Italy was a 15 minute walk! Most importantly, we felt safe in our area.

Not the swankiest hotel in Rome but it makes up for it in shovels in quality. The staff are great, friendly and go over and above to help make your stay a great one. Breakfast is good, the coffee is great. My bed was more comfortable than my own! It's very clean with fresh towels and bedding daily. Centrally situated with nearby bus and metro stops, it can't be beaten for a solo traveller. I'd not hesitate to recommend it. If I return to Rome I'll definitely stay at Hotel Patria.

This hotel is in a great location! Friendly staff but the smallest triple room I’ve ever stayed in. The bathroom smelt like a public toilet until I asked then to clean it properly and the bathroom was dirty. There was hair on the floor and the tap in the sink hadn’t been cleaned properly. Also the towels were the cheapest I’ve ever felt. We paid a lot for what we got and breakfast wasn’t even included. Won’t be back.

We have stayed at Patria a great many times over the years. I give it 5 stars because what it does, it does well. If your thinking the Hassler in Rome, the Gritti Palace in Venice, or Splendido in Portofino and like venues, this isn't your place. But it is the very best hotel in central Pistoia. It is located right in the middle of the historic area within walking distance of many of the places one might want to visit. The rooms are modern, well appointed and clean. They range in size. The building was remodeled some years ago and is tastefully decorated. In addition to its location, the hotel staff is excellent and very helpful. If you are traveling by car, you should know that there is no parking at the hotel; cars are restricted in the center city. There is a staffed, enclosed public garage about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. That is the cost for being in the middle of the historic area. I believe that the price/quality ratio is excellent. There are properties some distance from the historic area that have swimming pools, accommodations and a restaurant, but we prefer to be in the middle of the city.
