We booked the hotel through Citalia as the second half of a twin city break. The location of the hotel was perfect ,with all of the popular sights within walking distance. On arrival the reception staff were very welcoming and could not have been more helpful. The room was for three people and had a double bed and a single...

This hotel was excellent value for money, the twin room was big enough for us and was clean and well maintained. The location at the end of the Via Nazional is excellent base for getting around with easy access to rail and metro. there are plenty pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was a little too basic for my...

we spent 4 nights here and were quite comfortable although my mattress managed to move a bit during the night. The rooms were clean and bathrooms done every day; staff were very helpful , even making phone calls for me and the breakfast is good with great coffee. Number one positive is that the hotel is so central to everything:...

3 nights in this little hotel for a long weekend break. As per other reviews it wasn't the best hotel and the lift stopped a floor short of the top, so we had a flight of stairs to climb each time we went up to our room. It was small and basic but adequate. It wasn't cheap for the lack...

Dear Mr. Dave H., thank you for choosing Hotel Patria. About the elevator, as you said we are in the city centre in a historical building, so it is impossible for us to have the elevator until the 5th floor. We hope that our staff helped with your baggage at your arrival, as they always try to do. Thank you...

Just got back from Hotel Patria.Yes, it's a budget hotel but absolutely perfect for a four night stay. Located in a minor street, It's no more than 200 yards walk to the Republica Metro station and a fine plaza with amenities. Practically no noise at night, but it is a city after all. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
