This gem tucked away in a quiet corner of Rome. The hotel had a lovely tranquil ambience with friendly helpful staff. It is situated right by the Circus Massimo, Colosseum and right by the Palentino with easy access to public transport.

Just spent 4 nights in this hotel. Really liked the location in quiet street yet easy walk to Forum, Colosseum and city centre. Nice room overlooking gardens. Friendly helpful reception staff. Breakfast I would say average but the other advantages outweigh this.

The Kolbe Hotel is a little gem in the heart of Rome. Very convenient location near the Colosseum and the Circo Massimo. Breakfast in the garden, a delight! Will definitely return here when travelling to Rome.

The Kolbe Hotel is fantastically located by the Roman Forum, and nearby many other major monuments, only minutes away from Trastevere neighborhood across the Tiber. All of this is great walking territory, away from Rome's busiest, noisiest neighborhoods. The hotel is built onto a religious institution, and features a lovely garden, elegant architecture and helpful staff. So what's wrong with it?...

Great hotel in a wonderful location, within walking distance of many attractions. The Roman Forum is literally on your doorstep, as too is the Circus Maximus, and the hotel is overlooked by Palatine Hill, and if you need the bus that's not far either.. The hotel itself was really nice and the breakfast is plentiful to take you through the day....

This hotel has the perfect location for walking tours of ancient and medieval Rome. It's a boutique hotel with personalized and attentive service - a special note that Helena was especially helpful. Our room was a Jr. Suite overlooking the ruins and was very big and comfortable. The garden is peaceful and beautiful and you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner...

The hotel was nice but what really MADE our trip was the bartender Maurizzio in this hotel! Not only did he give amazing service but he was so welcoming and friendly. My boyfriend and I made it a priority to go have a night cap every night just so we could go see him. He is truly a good person...

We went with our teenage boys (15 & 19) and we were happily surprised by our mezzanine room. They took the large bed and we took the unusually comfy sofa bed by the en-suite. We couldn't fault the hotel to be honest. They were great with my gluten free diet (being a coeliac) and the afternoon tea was extremely good...

Staying in Aventine

Neighbourhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
