A friend and I were on a tight budget but didn't want to be too far from the city, so we stayed here. Location was great, room was comfortable, wifi, clean bathrooms, AC, and even a balcony. Would highly recommend to anyone on a budget.
I loved this place! It was located in the Trasteverde area (Giancolo Hill). Walking distance to city centre was around 20 minutes if I remember it alright. Host was excellent and caretaking. Breakfast was super and the balcony and kitchen were lovely! Only negative thing...More

Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of
scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
