Great location for seeing the sights in Rome. Staff at reception were very helpful and pleasant. They gave good directions and told us where to get tickets for all the places we wanted to go. The breakfast was very good and the staff were also very helpful ahe pleasant. Definitely would go back to this hotel . Thank you for a great stay Ger Ireland
Location of the hotel is great for walking to all of the major sights. Hotel staff friendly and informative. The rooms are dated and a little shabby around the edges. Hardly any sockets available so bring a long extension lead fur charging anything. Beds very small but relatively comfortable. TV has no English channels but the wifi strength is decent if you bring your own stick for Netflix etc. The hotel is situated on top of the metro line and is very noisy everytime a train passes. The rooms physically rattle every train. Trains stop around midnight and resume around 6am. Plus side is the station is very close to get to Vatican City etc. Breakfast was good, pastries are incredibly and the breakfast staff are attentive. Supermarket around 100m walk. Overall a reasonable choice for Rome sightseeing if a little noisy.…
Myself, a colleague and eight high school students visited Italy the 21st of June. The accommodations are perfect for travelers or tourist with ease of seeing the sights. The breakfast area is lovely with a great staff. When we had questions or needs they were able to help us right away.
Very pleased with the hotel. Shared a room with friends for 4 nights. Hotel was always clean & our towels were changed every day. Staff on the desk were really helpful. Only thing that has stopped me from saying excellent was the breakfast which was fine but not excellent. Would stayed again though as excellent value for money.
Only gave an average score due to having a good location. Very friendly helpful reception staff also breakfast staff really good, the breakfast is minimal but ok. We stayed in a family room. The room was tired and the power sockets not very safe, only 3 worked which two were used for the tv and kettle. The tea and coffee was not replaced during our three night stay and only plastic beakers provided for hot drinks, and this was after we asked twice for cups. There is a fridge which is useful, pointless tv only 4 Italian channels, bathroom adequate with only soap from dispensers so take your own! Beds are comfy though for those tired legs. Two chairs in the room were thread bare! Good location for the sites and easy to get to the Metro for the sites further a field. The hotel has a roof terrace although this is small and a conservatory which is air conditioned which is used for breakfast. No bar. Only parking available is on the road outside the hotel if your lucky enough to get a space - which we were thankfully.…
Hotel mainly OK but I can't give it 3 stars as my shaver didn't work in the power sockets and they charged €29 for some laundry I asked them to do and it took 24 hours to get the laundry back. I asked reception about them doing some laundry and they told me to drop it off at breakfast the following morning. I duly did this, but the laundry was still wet and not ready that evening so I only got it back the next morning. €29 for not even a same day laundry service is too much.
I think this hotel is a great choice if sightseeing is your priority. The very tall ceilings in our room made it seem quite large, though it is still roomy for a European hotel of this style. The location is wonderful, and despite our location right on the first floor by the street, it was pretty quiet. I found the staff to be helpful and courteous. I felt the morning breakfast was nice for Italy (as they are not really breakfast people). I expected my finer dining experiences for dinner at nearby restaurants. It is a perfect European basecamp for those who want a nice, local-style place to rest before and after their sight-seeing adventures.
I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Even if they say in the room description that some rooms have balcony they do not specify that the balcony is separately by the room. You have to go out from the room to go to balcony. I paid for a room with balcony and I did not use it because is not comfortable to let the room to go to the balcony. Also the breakfast is the same every day and I think some food was not fresh at all. As a plus, I have to specify that the hotel is well located, you can go to all the attractions only by walking. In the end, I definitely will not chose this hotel next time.
After arriving, we were told that our room was unavailable, and that we would need to move to a different hotel. This is consistent with other reviews I have read about this hotel. We were moved to a 'sister property' much further away. The other property was a wreck with exposed wiring. I believe the staff are instructed to move people, so they can keep the Borromeo rooms open for higher paying guests. Staff are incredibly rude. Just really awful people to deal with.
Opposite to our previous visit to Rome, this time we have decided to take accommodation closer to city center. Position The Hotel position was the main reason for booking it. Close to the Termini station, Colosseum and for those tourists enjoying discovering the Rome by walking as we are- simply perfect. We made our daily Rome rounds everything by foot (no Romapass) and for Trastavere for example, we used single trip tickets. Staff Absolut polite, very friendly. All necessary information (must see, walking routes, shopping centers, safety prerequisites etc.) needed, we received at the reception desk. No problem to leave your luggage in case you have early morning or late back flight as we had. Room Our double bed room was on the 1st. floor towards the street. Somehow, even in case of intensive traffic we could sleep well. The furniture is not the newest one but even more important for us is the cleanness: the room was daily cleaned-cleanness was perfect. TV with internat. channels, small fridge, safe, big bathroom with hair dryer are available too. Breakfast Traditional Italian one. Italian bakery products, cereals, dried fruits, yoghurt, milk, ham, mortadella, butter, cheese, Nutella, jam, honey, fresh fruit etc. and off course coffee. Our tip: please ask the old lady serving the breakfast to prepare fresh espresso-it is amazing! Conclusion For the tourists not looking the luxury, where a good position the primary target is strong recommendation. Borromeo GRAZIE MILLE! …
