Have stayed at the Mecenate Palace on two different trips to Rome. It's a wonderful property and very centrally located to the train station and local subway. Nice room with a good sized en suite bath, great staff and very pleasant neighborhood. Make sure you try the in-house restaurant as well as the rooftop bar. Both are well worth a...

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the train/metro station. The staff was always courteous. The complementary breakfast was great, and the room was very comfortable with a charming ambiance. I'd recommend it.

Beautiful room, lovely staff and gorgeous rooms!! The breakfast was great and good location, termini station (to the airport) is a 5 minute walk and a bus stop outside. Another metro station a few minutes walk in the other direction. The decoration is simply stunning, we were placed in a superior double room in the main hotel. Overall expensive but...

Picked this place for the location & that was a good call. Near a couple metro stops so it's easy to get around town. It's also walking distance to the Colosseum/Forum/Palantine. The hotel walks a fine line between classic & dated. I would say there are definitley some things that could use a little refreshing, but it wasn't too bad...

The hotel room looks NOTHING like the photos. We were put into an apartment building a few minutes away, which did not look secure at all. There's no elevator in that building so you have to walk a bunch of steps to get to your room. The room is very small and not at all what we asked or paid...

First class hotel which we have used three times before 10 years ago 8 years ago and 5 years ago. The staff were all very courteous and I should like in particular to thank Mayura Cristina Marco and Marlon in the Restaurant and for giving me a birthday cake at breakfast on my special day. Great location and highly recommended

the hotel is close to train station with a walking distance of 5 minutes and wonderful breakfast .. no complaints.. the room is a bit smaller than shown in the picture.. but that must be the issue with pictures.. front desk staff is nice but you need to be patient with them... they address issues in orders

We loved the location. Didn't realize that we would be walked next door to our room. A room in the hotel building itself was supposedly more expensive. Our room, off the courtyard, was nice and comfortably furnished. However, with a rainy night we couldn't get much sleep as we listened all night long to the drum beat of water dripping...

Many a time visiting Rome and the 2nd time staying in this particular hotel. Next time in Rome, 100% will stay in this hotel and will recommend to anybody else going. The service is fantastic, 55 euros to be picked up privately at the airport and whisked away into the heart of Rome in a nice car straight to the...

This is our third visit to Rome and to this wonderful hotel in terms of service, cleanness, and location. This hotel will be our choice whenever we be to Rome in the future too. The staff are very helping, polite, and professional. Thank you, Roberto, Piero, Brian, and Antonio. AND a very special thank to the Breakfast team: Mayura, Cristina,...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
