7th floor terrace cafe has the most magnificent view of the city, and the food is tasty too. Vibrant mix of edgy decor in public areas and more traditional furnishings in the room. Marvellous bedding. Deep bath tub and rain shower plus wand. Windows open and have shutters and/or black out curtains. Smoking is allowed, but hotel is not smelly....

The staff was accommodating, the room was ok and they nickel and dime you for everything. But that is Rome for you. It's a big city and I guess that's how it goes. Our original room was a bit small so we requested a room change, they were very nice about it especially Luca who showed us 2 rooms. The...

The style of this hotel is "intimate" rather than "grand". There is not much of a lobby but it works fine. The rooms are bright, spacious, and very appealing. Decor is elegant but restrained. These are the kind of rooms I hope to see when I book a 5-star hotel in Europe. Well worth the price my party paid. The...

I surprised my husband with a 4 day trip to Rome for his birthday in January. Both of us had never been there before so choosing a hotel wasn't easy but the Sofitel turned out to be perfect for us. We received a warm welcome from the staff and, as requested, a bottle of champagne was on ice in our...

Very friendly and professional staff; the hotel is very well fitted out, in excellent materials; spacious and well equipped rooms; particularly good breakfast buffet; rooftop restaurant was good, and affords splendid views. Altogether a very good base in Rome.

I scoured all of the trip advisor reviews before deciding on this hotel. I checked out many other sites too before deciding. This is a smaller hotel than other Sofitels . It's almost a boutique hotel. The concierge , or front desk person check you in, and handle any questions. The room, I have a king superior, is great. It's...

We stayed here for 3 nights and the hotel was excellent....rooms very clean, beds exceptionally comfortable...bathroom luxurious....location central although up a hill which was okay if you got a taxi back up...staff very very friendly and very helpful. a little pricey for drinks but then you were getting a treble measure so all in all value for money. Terrace bar...

This hotel was a great spot to stay in Rome. Close to Piazza di Spagna, Villa Borghese Gardens and Via Veneto. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was very helpful and was able to offer great suggestions for where to visit and where to eat. The real jewel of this hotel, though, is the terrace...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
