This hotel was great. We were able to walk to all major tourist attractions, like the colloseum, trevi fountain, the vatican, and a whole lot of piazzas and palazzos. Friendly staff and they spoke great English. Best gelato in Rome is right around the corner which made a perfect end to each day.

Hotel Nazionale located Piazza Montecitorio 131, 00186 Rome, Italy. Yes....the Griswolds stayed here in the movie "National Lampoons European Vacation", and my wife and I spent 15 days here in April 2016. It is walking distance from almost every major tourist site in Rome and two blocks from a main north-south/east-West city bus stop. This hotel is next to the...

After a long number of years staying in hotels, this is my first time to bother giving a review on trip advisor. The hotel was excellent and in a great location. Although it is near the centre of everything, it was extremely quiet at night and the room had shutters which blacked out the light which helps in the mornings....

Can't say enough about this hotel. We stayed a week in Feb 2017 and could not have been more pleased. Very close to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps Shopping and Dining. Rooms were very nice, very clean and very comfortable after a long day. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful with a wide selection. If you're waffling about a...

Excellent location as within walking distance of all main sites. The room we stayed in had not been renovated but that added to its charm - good big bathroom for a city centre hotel. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful - especially Patrick. Close to lots of restaurants and bars. Good value for money. There was some street noise...

We stayed in this hotel for a week. The staff was very efficient and friendly, particularly at the reception. Our visit was partly business but mostly for sightseeing purposes. Being very central one could split the day into two halves to have a break at early afternoon, if one wanted. Rome is pretty safe from security point of view but...

Hotel Nazionale was fab - being my second visit to Rome I knew I wanted a more central hotel and this one is perfect! Nothing is too far to walk, Trevi/Spanish Steps are 10 mins, Pantheon is right around the corner! Hotel was nice, staff friendly and the breakfast was super! Restaurants and (more importantly!!) gelato in walking distance! Defo...

We got a recommendation from friends for this hotel. As they are experienced travellers, we chose this one. But what a disaster in an whole week. We had a luxury suite. But at the first night the shower wasn't working (no water) and there was no hot water. It took three days before it was repaired. We had to shower...

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
