Stayed Aug 22, 2016 for 1 night for morning flight home. We choose this hotel for its good rating and easy access to express train to Airport. The neighborhood has seen better days, but was safe. In spite of LOTS of graffiti. 6 minute walk to the Train Station. Very friendly man checked us in and provided lots of useful...

Today is my first day of my stay here booked my travel agent. This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever seen. They don't even offer you water or coffee. I made myself a small cup of 50 ml coffee from the so called always open bar area and the guy standing there asked me if I would like...

Lovely hotel good location, staff fantastic nothing was too much trouble, they recommended local restaurants that served very good food at affordable prices. The staff helped make our stay in Rome a very enjoyable one. The hotel was clean and comfortable with a good breakfast choice, would definitely recommend to anyone.

Good clean accommodations centrally located a 10 minute walk from Roma Termini. While the area is dated, felt safe in walking to restaurant and back. Great if you are just over nighting in Rome before proceeding onward. Staff is courteous and helpful.

I made a return visit to this hotel after one year. I was not disappointed. The staff were as welcoming as I had remembered and the rooms spotlessly clean. Our room this trip was just off the garden which made the view in the morning a very pleasant one. The breakfast was a selection of hams, cheeses, eggs, fruit, juices...

This hotel is like a 5 minute walk from Termini Station; very convenient for getting around the city. The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. The room was well equipped and we had a first floor room with a beautiful private terrace overlooking the garden. That was wonderful! A/C worked very well. Only 2 English channels: CNN & BBC....

Just OK, better options available stayed just one night to be near the train station prior to our return home. Rooms are very small, drab and dingy. Bed was uncomfortable. I have previously stayed at other hotels near the train station in the Rome, and there are better hotels in the same price range.

We stayed at the Astoria Garden Hotel after a Venice - Rome cruise. For anyone needing to access the main train station it is in a good location, just a few easy blocks away, as well as near hop-on hop-off bus routes. We had a ground floor room, facing a tropical garden with tables and chairs where you can sit...

Pleasant hotel, with adequate facilities and fair standard for the price. As with all smaller city hotels, the rooms are on the small side but they were clean, tidy and perfectly fine as a base for our 3 days in Rome. It's true what some reviewers have said in that the area is a little tired in places but it's...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
