Hotel is modern and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very small but again clean and was serviced each day. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed we've ever experienced, we actually came home sore from the bed. Breakfast wasn't great at all. I don't think I would stay here again.
Super people , good spot with nice outlook, lovely little walk to Metro. rooms satisfactory, shower good, but by far the people were excellent food good, location to airport and city good. could do with hbo.
Rooms spacious with 2 occupants. Hotel very clean and staff exceptional! Location and transportation to various places - excellent. Food in hotel restaurant excellent! Hotel also very attractive and well worth the cost!
Despite its name, its not really close to the Vatican. It’s a big, old hotel, with a large swimming pool and spa. It seems to be designed for conventions. You’ll need a taxi to go anywhere. The hotel offers a shuttle service downtown. In our room, the minibar was not just empty, but warm. The hairdryer is attached in a drawer, and has so little power, it’s almost usless, the kind you have to press a button to work. If you use the safe box, read the instructions; it’s different from most.
Everything about the hotel was great! The only complaint I had was that I couldn't control the heating in the room. I was able to open the sliding door to the patio in order to regulate the temperature in the room.
Clean and comfortable, outside the bustle of the center of Rome, with free parking and pleasant grounds to enjoy out of doors. The restaurant was good, with a small menu done well, and breakfast offered a variety of fruits, breads, cereals, and custom order omelets and poached eggs from the kitchen.
The hotel staff is very nice. Big room, very clean, good breakfast. The hotel itself is not at the city center, but the communication is good. Shuttle bus existed, but we took bus just outside the hotel t/r city center, more flexible ( now it is possible to use contactless card to pay bus). Local restaurant Al Giardino is super nice, it was full when we went, but the owner created a table for us! Will come back!
Crowne Plaza Hotel Rome, Italy. We arrived by taxi from the airport at 7pm and went directly to the IHG members check in at the reception. We waited patiently without being acknowledged for about 10 minutes whilst the two receptionists dealt with other guests. When finally we were acknowledged, simply asked to move over to the regular reception window for regular guests eg:non IHG members and not even recognized as Diamond program members. Other than this the check in was pretty straight forward. When we entered our room on the fourth floor overlooking the garden at the rear of the hotel, it was extremely hot and had a very bad smell. We opened the balcony door to let fresh air into the room and the bottom locking catch fell off. Later, we went to try out the Papillon restaurant which, was not to our liking and provided a pretty meagre selection of dishes. Eg: A tourist selection of dishes. The service was “ok” but the food provided was not very interesting. Although the room was itself quite and comfortable, it was nothing like the lovely photos displayed on the IHG website and, the hotels two swimming pools were closed for the period we were staying (without any prior notification of this whereby, we could have changed our reservation to another hotel in Rome. Just before 23.00 two of the picture’s on the bedroom wall fell to the floor with a loud bang. Remarkably the glass on the picture frames did not shatter. This was because of the type of picture hangers unsuitable for their weight. Another call to the reception ensued to inform them and tomorrow, they will arrange for the hotels maintenance to rehang them both. On our second day we took the local bus from the bus stop just outside of the hotel. This was convenient. However, the nearest Metro station is a good 25 minute walk away for a fit person. In fact, this hotel is not conveniently located for public transport and you need to take expensive taxis as the hotel shuttle is often not available to book to the central district or Terminus. Later on our second days stay returning at 16.15 we found that our room had not been made up. I complained to the reception who offered somebody to come and do it. We declined as so tired and needed to freshen up ready for dinner. Would we stay at this hotel again? Regrettably there are much better hotels in Rome than this one so I have to say “NO” Never again.…
We stayed here for a holiday. The Hotel location was very good. It has spacious and well maintained rooms, staff was courteous and food was excellent in breakfast and in dinner. They provide city tour facility as well.
Everything is beautiful, but the daily breakfast is the same as the breakfast, and this makes you feel uncomfortable eating the same food every day. I wanted to see the pizza or most of the cheese for breakfast and also the pasta with cheese and so on!!
