Nestled in a tranquil area with nature nearby, Crowne Plaza Rome - St. Peter's offers a serene escape, though its location is noted as being a bit remote from the city's heart. The hotel's atmosphere, complete with live piano music, is often praised for its peacefulness, and the range of amenities, including an outdoor pool, gym, and spa, are well-received. While service is generally commended, some guests have experienced delays. The rooms are recognized as clean and comfortable, though occasional noise and dated furnishings have been mentioned. Despite mixed feelings on value, the shuttle service is consistently appreciated for its convenience.

Can I just say a huge thank you to all the staff at The Crowne Plaza, St Peters. They went above and beyond for me and my partner whilst staying here. It was my birthday so when we got there because I am also an IHG member they gave us a upgraded room, which I have to say was very nice. During the days there they helped us out in any which they could, we couldn’t of asked for more. Then on my birthday they had left some very yummy biscuits and a bottle of champagne in our room with a note saying “Happy Birthday”, very special and thoughtful of the hotel to have done that for me, so I thank you once again.

Can I just add that Stefano who is not only an amazing barman, he is a kind soul who loves the guests and his job. We made friend with Stefano instantly and loved spending time at the bar not only watching him work but also having lots of laughs and great conversation. So me and Tom thank you for being the best at what you do and for being a wonderful host at the bar and also being someone we can now call a friend.

And of course Nino, the finest pianist I have ever heard play. This hotel is very privileged to have him play every evening. We had the privilege to chat to Nino and I can say hand on heart he is like Stefano a kind soul and a wonderful man. His music we could of listened to forever.

This hotel is a must to stay at. Very clean, good food, great drinks, there is a spa, pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Very relaxing! We spent an entire day having treatments and relaxing, it was wonderful.

The only one thing I will note and I did tell reception, the housekeeping in a morning are noisy! Different company and not run by the hotel. Don’t think they really care for the guests. They did a good job every time our room was serviced but to say we was on a quiet floor they was cleaning rooms at 9am some mornings and we were still in bed. Very rude! Hopefully this is something the hotel will be able to work on with the housekeeping department!

Other than that everything was amazing!
Thank you team Crowne Plaza, St. Peters. You are the very best! Xx

Three stars might be a little mean but it reflects a mixed bag of experiences at the Crowne Plaza. First the positives: the interior is much better than the dated 1960s exterior would suggest and rooms have, as far as we could tell, been updated. The staff were all very pleasant and spoke English when our limited Italian failed us. The pool area is a real bonus, although was only open at weekends in late April and the pool itself was very cold. But it is a nice place to sit in the Spring sunshine. The hotel was reasonably priced, partly due to its out of town location and presumably due to a continuing lack of business custom. We had pre-booked but there seemed to be haggling going on over price at reception when we arrived.

Less positively, the rooms aren’t very well sound proofed so sleep was disturbed on a number of occasions, either because of noise from next door rooms or from people passing in the corridor. There was no air conditioning in the room which, although not a significant issue in April, must be a problem in the height of summer. The buffet breakfast was adequate but definitely not exceptional and featured some oddities. Coffee ordered from the waiting staff mostly came in a china cup but occasionally in a paper cup ( in a four star hotel?) and the plastic spoon provided for eating cereal looked better suited to a four year old than an adult. Very odd.

Tip: the bus service from outside the hotel is excellent for the Vatican and beyond.

This was my first time staying with this property. I would highly recommend this property. If you have a car they have a very large free parking area. The hotel staff is by far some of the best I have met in the hotel industry. Most have been working at the property for many, many years and no the yearly guests that frequent the property. Fabio was especially welcoming and beyond his bartending accomplishments offers a knowledge and friendly experience at the bar. One thing important to note for people not accustomed to the hours of restaurants in Europe (closed between 3pm - 8pm) this place offers food through out the day. The American style breakfast buffet in the morning offers a large selection of European and American offerings, you won't be hungry in the morning! The rooms are large & spacious not typical with most Italian hotels. Elevators are large & provide quick service to the five floors of rooms. If there was one negative is that you are quite away from Rome city center. They do offer a shuttle service on a rotating schedule to different points for a small fee. Taxi's can cost you up to 30 Euro. I did walk from the Vatican back to the hotel following the Google walking route I wouldn't recommend it. It took about 75 mins and had multiple significant elevation changes. Well done CP R- SP's!

Excellent staff very helpful and friendly. Having a taxi rank on site is great no hanging around waiting they are there in minutes. Great location to visit all the great sites within a 10 to 20 minute taxi ride, costing between 10 and twenty euros. Rooms could do with proper cups and not throwaway plastic or paper cups

We had a family suite (which for us turned out to be two interconnected rooms, one twin / one double). Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were good size and with good powerful showers. Each room had an inclusive minibar with beer / soft drinks refreshed most days. For us the highlights were the poolside bar (the staff) and the breakfast (food and staff). We went during Covid restrictions so breakfast was very organised but vey good selection of buffet food. Eating an evening meal at the hotel was slightly expensive but there was one very good restaurant just outside the hotel so we had choice. Uber to Vatican was around 18 Euros and to Colosseum was around 30. The only downside / slight frustration was reception, seemed to be under manned but they may have been reduced staff due to social distancing (staff themselves were very professional).

Due to flight problems at Gatwick we arrived in Rome at 9pm, 8 hours later than anticipated, and all of our luggage had been lost.
It was such a relief to receive a lovely warm welcome from the staff of reception and to be instantly provided with the essential toiletries for our first night.
Likewise, the staff in the restaurant served us quickly and since they were about to close, they proactively enquired if we would like to order dessert.
The reception we received from all staff we met completely transformed what had previously been quite an exhausting and stressful day!
The room itself was very comfortable, lovely beds, nice bathroom with a powerful and easy to adjust shower, and much appreciated air conditioning.
The reception staff provided us with maps for getting around the city and clearly explained the travel options - for us the local buses which take about 15 mins to the city centre, run every 10 minutes from just outside the hotel and cost €1.50 per person for 100 minutes of unlimited bus travel and one metro ride, were definitely the most effective option!
The swimming pool was brilliant - our children are competitive swimmers and they loved the opportunity to be able to swim properly in the lane which was roped off. The pool was a comfortable temperature. It was also nice that it is strictly closed until 10am so you don't have that horrible situation when you arrive to swim, and find that all the sun loungers have been reserved with towels belonging to people who are nowhere to be seen.
We were grateful that the barman was happy to refil water bottles so we didn't have to continually buy water. Unfortunately we only realised late in the week that the hotel shop only charges €2.50 for a can of coke whereas the bar charges €4; when you're buying drinks for a family all day, this can make a bit of a difference!
Overall, this hotel and the staff made what could have easily been a disappointing holiday (with no luggage!) a very enjoyable experience. Thank you

We had a very pleasant stay in Rome, where we stopped by only for one day. We asked for an early check in and could take our rooms already at 11 am(regarding the whole night drive that was extremely helpful). The breakfast was OK, but it was cold and unfriendly atmosphere in the dining room (due to the face mask, baskets on the table and only small choice of food in limited quantity - for example there is no fresh bread, we asked 3 times for it, but only got 2 small buns with ham). Otherwise, the pool was awesome and gave the short stay a 5*.

Dear Lidija K, Thank you for your feedback following your recent stay with us. I'm glad to read that you had a pleasant stay and learn your appreciation for our facilities. Regarding breakfast we have discussed the points you raised about the bread with our Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef and as a result we are confident they will take the necessary steps to continue to improve their services and quality. Every morning we serve a basket with croissants, biscuits, rusks, jam, honey, Nutella, cornflakes and fruit juice. On request are also available freshly baked croissants with different flavors, toasted bread, ham and cheese, hot beverages, yoghurt, fresh fuit and other fruit juices. We very much hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to the Crowne Plaza St. Peter’s on your next visit to Rome. With kind regards, Davide Grilli, General Manager

We travelled as a family of 4, kids aged and 12 and 9. We had visited this hotel a few years ago as a couple and found it to be a perfect mix of a good hotel for a good price with a pool and nice rooms. That is still the case but a couple of things could improve it to 5*.

The hotel, being about 5km outside of Rome, used to lay on a courtesy bus into the centre 3 or 4 trips per day. They no longer do this but they do offer a 4€ per person bus. We found that a taxi was cheaper (although beware that due to Covid restrictions, you cannot travel in the front seat so need a larger taxi for 4).

The hotel has a great pool which is 11ft deep, yes 11ft! But still, the overzealous lifeguards do not allow diving or jumping. I don’t understand why not with those depths and it did take away some of the enjoyment. There are plenty loungers and complimentary pool towels.

The breakfasts were good. Eggs and bacon with toast, fruit, pastries, cereals and yoghurts plus coffee and juices.
The hotel and rooms were well cleaned and plenty of sanitising stations around.

The rooms are a good size with nice bathroom, balcony and free safe. The TV had only BBC world news in English yet seemed to have dozens of channels in other languages. Perhaps that reflects their usual guests but it did disappoint a little.

The WiFi was good and there was complimentary water left every day. The air con was also good which was necessary in the Roman summer.

Finally, there is a fantastic restaurant just out of the hotel to the right. There is not really much else walkable close by as there are no pavements but that was great and we visited twice (we didn’t eat in the hotel).

All in all, a great hotel which could be a better excellent with a few tweaks

Very nice hotel. Large rooms, balcony, bed etc. Pool was great. Location is a little out the way but we knew that. Wanted to see Rome but also have the relaxed feel with a pool and that’s what we got. Only minor gripe would be some pressure in the shower. For anyone reading you can walk out to the right of the hotel, at the split go left and 10 minute walk there’s a few cafe, restaurants, (McDonald’s included) and a proper supermarket where you can buy a litre of wine for as little as €1.89. Peroni under a euro bottle. Ideal for your Room for a few balcony drinks. Lager in a cafe that way €3.50-€4. In the city and anywhere near a tourist attraction obviously completely different. €8 a drink you’re doing well. Plenty transport options, taxis on site, bus outside, hotel shuttles. We tended to use Uber Black as you know your cost (standard Uber not allowed in Italy) and they were very reasonable and lovely big black Mercedes. All in all very good hotel and lovely city to visit.

On arrival we were greeted by our taxi driver which was arranged perfectly (flight was delayed) and at a reasonable price by the hotel due to our flight arriving after the hotel shuttle service had ended for the day. My husband was a little concerned at first on seeing the hotel as it looks a little 'tired', but this grand lady did not disappoint. From checking in to checking out we could not have asked for a better venue, nor more friendly staff. The room was huge for just the two of us and spotlessly clean with the added bonus of a balcony, which we enjoyed to the full sipping coffee/tea/sundowners and watching the parrots swoop past on their way to their nests. Having the bus stop just outside was a real treat and we made extensive use of this mode of transport with a short trip into the center of Rome. The on-site restaurant tickled our tastebuds and the breakfasts were delicious with a selection of fare to suit even a fussy eaters palate. Although the weather was not so nice, we enjoyed the indoor pool which helped to ease our tired bodies after waiting in line for hours at some of the tourist attractions. Our flight back to Heathrow was cancelled and we had to spend an extra night in Rome, but unfortunately there were no rooms available at Crowne Plaza and we had to book into another hotel costing more than double the price - boy were we disappointed. Crowne Plaza Rome sets the bar when it comes to affordability, comfort, cleanliness and friendliness. We recommend this hotel without reservation. Thanks for a great holiday stay.

Hello Shannon, We have standard European outlets (Type C). Please note that our voltage is different from the US, so rather than an adapter you will be needing a converter, which the hotel does not provide. See you soon! Kind regards, Augusta Guest Relations Team

Yes you can both drop Yr case or ask for early check in, it is even easier if you have a one reward memebership (the programme of IHG). NB: Tawi ride to the vatican is less thqn 10 euros from the hotel, no biggie if u miss the bus
