Great smallish hotel right next door to the Pantheon, as its name suggests.
Staff very friendly and helpful, room smallish but very well equipped, good bed, interesting lighting, including in the shower! Decent air con. Kettle etc very welcome.
Breakfast good buffet.

Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural
storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.

We did not pre book or fast track any of the Rome attractions when we travelled at the end of April. Queues for the Collesium only took about 20 minutes despite touts trying to sell you fast track tickets saying it takes over an over. Do not be tempted they are merely pushing something I don't think you actually need. The Vatican was the busiest area particularly on a Sunday as sometimes mass is taking place in the morning. Bear this in mind when you visit. Also when we visited the Vatican museum closed around mid day so I suggest you visit early if you are going on the Sunday
