If you want 5 star luxury this is not the hotel for you. If you want a comfy bed, clean room and somewhere close to the termini train station then this is a good option. Yes, the breakfast is a basic continental, the decor is very dated and the whole place could do with an upgrade but the service re...

Just fine for a visit of Rome! Don't expect to much, but the rooms are clean and the location is good! We experienced an earthquake in the hotel and it seemed to be a safe place to be during this event ;-).

The Igea hotel is walking distance from the Termini railway station, and is in a typically tourist area, with restaurants close. Not the largest hotel on the block, once inside the foyer, we found the staff very friendly and helpful, giving us a map of the city centre. Our room on the 3rd floor was very tidy with a firm...

You get all the basic necessities in this hotel for the price you pay. The sheets are clean, they provide a small soap, tissue and there's good wifi in the room. It's centrally located and very close to the Main Train station. There's no coffee making facilities but breakfast is provided downstairs.

Have just spent 3 nights in this hotel. First trip to rome so being somewhere easy to locate was ideal. 2 single rooms clean and adequate. Mine was slightly larger and found a balcony on 2nd afternoon when returned for a brief break from city. Would recommend hotel to others. Staff friendly and very helpful. Breakfast more than adequate as...

The hotel is walkable from Roma Termini station. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast served is basic and has limited options. Free Wi-Fi. Rooms are spacious enough but a bit dull in color. I liked hard mattresses.

I stayed at this hotel in September traveling solo as tourist. The room was small but very clean and it was a great advantage. Rooms were cleaned every day. The shower is a bit tiny... As other travelers mentioned breakfast was poor and I hardly ate there. But the advantage is very close location to the Central Station in case...

I echo exactly what Vivian wrote below - not the best area in the world due to proximity to the train, but very centrally located. Easy to get the train back to airport, use the metro or very easy walk up to the Roman antiquities. The breakfast is essentially a continental style with small necessities. Rooms are small, but that's...

This hotel is conveniently located 4 blocks from Termini station, exactly 4 blocks from where the airport bus departs/arrives at. I had read many reviews saying the area of the hotel is not nice. The problem here has nothing to do with the hotel itself but it just happens to be near a train station and as it happens in...

Have stayed in worse but not to many. Firstly the lifts come to in-between floors and you still have to use stairs. The room is basic with no information. The bathroom worked. During the night all we heard was doors banging. The use of toilets and water. Overall it is a lucky 2 star hotel.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
