My girlfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend during March, I have to say this was my first time abroad and it was done on a very tight budget but that in no way reflected on the service we received. The hotel is family run and all of the staff are all very happy to help you and...

Have just got back from a lovely weekend. We stayed in room 110 which was nice as it slightly seperate from other rooms with just 3 rooms together What made this hotel was the staff. Everyone was sooo friendly and helpful. Answered all of our questions. We walked everywhere and managed to get a tram from just outside to the...

after looking at reviews we chose the Donatello and we were not disappointed. All the staff were excellent even down to the cleaners and especially Carlo, Simon and Lorenzo. Hotel is cosy and very clean. We were in room 408 which had a little balcony onto the front street. Yes the traffic passes constantly but it wasn't a problem for...

Loved the hotel, just right for a weekend break. Staff were very friendly & polite & the hotel was very clean. First impressions looking at the front of the hotel was fearful but once inside its quite quirky with a nice patio area at the rear. stayed on the fourth floor room 403. The room was good with a free...

It is a very clean hotel with very nice staff. They explained us what we should visit in Rome. We got a very small room, with very low ceiling, the room was facing the street with the tram lines, it wasn't very silent during the night. Italian breakfast: croissant, butter and jam, coffee or tea. It is located at 20...

We all enjoyed being at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, with AC and en suite. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. Reception was staffed 24 hours a day, so it always felt safe coming in and out of the hotel. Breakfast was basic - a cold croissant and bread roll with preserves and hot drink...

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were very friendly and helpful. Close to a tram stop and 5 mins walk to a metro stop. A bit far from the centre, but then this made it a bit quieter. Around 15 mins walk maybe more from the main Terminus. Room was clean, tidy and in great order. Third...

Staffs are so kind and really nice people. Its location is basically easy to go wherever. Taking 15 minutes to Colosseum on foot, and only a few minutes to the nearest metro station. There's a supermarket and convenience stores around the hotel so it's so easy to go to buy stuff. Rooms are clean, and there're amenities enough such as...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
