First of all we need to say a HUGE thank you to the gent who was working on reception on the morning of Tues 25th Sept (and had done the night shift the previous evening!). We had missed our private transfer to the airport and were panicking about missing our flight, but he got straight on to a taxi firm to inform them of the situation, ensuring they’d get us to the airport as quickly as possible and even giving us live updates of when the taxi would be arriving at the hotel. Ended up comfortably making our flight, arriving at the airport within half an hour of first raising the alarm with reception! Completely saved our trip and just sums up the quality of service at this hotel. It isn’t often that you find that the staff match the hotel, but somehow they were all as quirky and charming as the building itself! They were all so chirpy, always said hello in passing and particularly in the evening were almost desperate to have a chat with you to see what you’d been up to during the day! Our small double room wasn’t huge on storage space, but there was enough space in the wardrobe for staying a few days and you could tuck your cases away in the corner. It could do with more plug sockets, but at least you didn’t have to use your room key to turn on the electricity so you could swap which devices were charging whilst having breakfast etc. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom more than adequate with a walk-in shower. We had the most lovely balcony area looking out on to the aqueduct opposite and the street below, with the sound of the cars on the cobbles being oddly soothing. The air conditioning didn’t seem to work, but the breeze from the balcony was welcome and the electronic shutters worked perfectly well at stopping the sunlight coming in when it warmed up, with none of the coughing and spluttering you might get from air con! Breakfast can be a bit of a challenge at peak times with only limited staff to clear tables and take coffee orders, but stay patient and you’ll get more than enough to set yourself up for the day. The courtyard is an absolute delight, just to calming and tranquil and a complete world away from the chaos of the tourist sites. The perfect spot to unwind with an Aperol Spritz. Colosseum is barely a 20 minute walk away, and it was only 8 minutes or so to walk to Manzoni metro station which is very well connected to all of the major sights. Turn left out of the hotel and there is a tram stop which happens to be the junction of pretty much all of the lines within Rome, but these aren’t as frequent as the Metro nor do they necessarily connect to the tourist areas. They do run a little later than the Metro though which is handy as Manzoni currently closes at 9.30pm Sun-Thurs because of engineering work. Termini station is roughly a 20 minute walk away but is a little bit too far with suitcases etc. If you are arriving by train and have suitcases with you, make sure that you prebook a transfer as the taxi rank outside the station is beyond extortionate. We were charged 43€ for the journey of barely a mile; this is compared to the 50€ it cost for a single journey from the hotel all the way to the airport! If you don’t mind being a little further away from the action of the city centre and want a bit of a haven in the evenings then this is the hotel for you!

Our second time visiting and just as impressive as the first. Maybe better. Emona Aquaeductus delivers on traditional Italian decor with charming and delightful staff. They gave us amazing recommendations for authentic food spots and even free coffee when they found out it was our second stay with them. The breakfast is all you would need. From continental breads, pastries, a selection of meats and cheeses, as well as cereal. The rooms range from more open plan with a bath, to a modest double. We stayed in both and have no complaints about either. It's a 10 minute walk to the colosseum or there are several public transport spots including the tram, bus and metro on the doorstep. A haven away from the chaos...its a big thumbs up from me.

Pick this hotel because it was near to all the main tourist attractions and look really picturesque, what it didn't show you was all the homeless people sleeping under the bridges. Not the hotels fault but the area was very rundown with graffiti everywhere. The hotel itself was clean and staff friendly.

Hotel Emona Aquaductus was the perfect accomodation for our visit to Rome. Quirky, rustic decor, decent room size, and friendly accepting staff. Vlad at reception was exceptional. We arrived early and they were able to let us check into our room early, which was helpful. The location of the hotel is close enough by metro (Manzoni Station) to all the sights, yet far enough away to be quiet and feel at peace. The courtyard is just great for relaxing outdoors. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone!

We absolutely LOVED our stay in Hotel Emona. The garden is absolutely beautiful and the perfect place to relax and enjoy an aperol spritz. The staff were so kind and couldn’t do enough to help us. They helped make our stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable and clean, AC worked just fine (I think some people unhappy with AC may be used to American standards?) even during 30 degree weather. We are already planning on returning to this hotel and would recommend to anybody. What a beautiful hotel.

The room do not match any of the photos shown on the website. The hotel uses heavy cumbersome keys that must remain at the front desk when leaving the property. The room had Type L wall outlets which was inconvenient because the most common outlet in Europe is Type C. When we checked into the room, the room was hot and musty. The air conditioner barely worked. We left the property for a few hours, and upon return were informed that the air conditioner broke and the room floor had been damaged by water as a result. Instead of refunding the room (no others room available), the solution was a fan in a 90 degree (32 celsius) room. Also, towels on the floor to soak in all the water that had made the floors slippery, dangerous, and warped. The management refused to speak to the travel agency and identify himself to the travel agency and to us. What a joke of an establishment. The refund was eventually issued days later, but there should have been zero hesitation to issue a refund the night of.

I stayed here last month and this hotel was a disappointment. The air conditioners barely work, the breakfast was not worth what we paid for it, and the view of the hotel is of a park filled with homeless and danger. The metal shutters to the balcony in the rooms are automatic, and mine broke during my stay. I told the front desk, and they gave me a run-around, eventually blaming me for "breaking" it. The front desk lady tried to charge me for their broken machinery. I will never stay here again and I recommend nobody else does either.

In a busy road near s. Croce in Gerusalemme the hotel is an oasis of tranquility, rooms are smallish but comfortable, staff very friendly and breakfast outside on a ramp with a little green outside. recommended for a working trip. The Musical Instruments Museum and the Basilica nearby are wonderful, and there are excellent restaurants and bars nearby.

I rarely stay in Hotels but my stay in this one was really one of the best. It was full of taste, and the lovely family that owns it spent a lot of time on every detail. It makes you feel at home also because of the great interactions with the staff we had
