My mum and I stopped here for a cocktail on the recommendation of a friend, and ended up staying for lunch! The atmosphere was great, the place is beautiful and the food was tasty. We wanted to return in the evening for a meal but it was fully booked - and understandably so! I will definitely go back on my...

Rarely does a hotel deserve a written review more than Hotel De Russe. This is one of the most exceptional hotels we’ve ever stayed in, and we’ve stayed a lot of places (Four Seasons, Ritz, Fairmont, etc). You can read the other reviews about the rooms, the garden etc. but for me, the thing that sets this place over the...

We have stayed at the Russie in prior years, and have always been pleased. This year we went to an apartment instead of a hotel, but we did make sure to go to the Russie for a drink in the late afternoon. It was terrific; great bar food, great drinks and a wonderful oasis-like garden view in the center of...

My husband has been visiting Rome for over 60 years and stayed in most of the 5* hotels - we went together for the first time to the Russie 18 months ago and both fell in love with the hotel - the staff are all delightful - we just love the peace and tranquility the minute we step through the...

An exquisite building around a beautiful garden away from the bustle of Rome, with charming decor, elegant foyer and very helpful and attractive staff. The rooms are not enormous but they are well appointed with fine details such as embroidered linen and excellent sheeting. The small marble bath was also very beautiful with a terrific bath and shower. The maids...

This is a fine hotel in all respects. The staff, the setting, the suites and the dining make this a truly 5 star experience. Slow down if you are an American, the food service is European and is much slower than you are used to. It's the no tipping thing- why should they go fast? Anyway, you will fall asleep...

Location, location, location. This hotel is central to all the main sight seeing places. The restaurants, boutique shops, and international designer stores literally surround the hotel. Don't be surprised by quite a few celebrity sightings in this hotel accompanied by magnificent service.

All I can comment on is their bar-garden seating area. We discovered as we were walking past the hotel. Stopped to ask the doorman a question and were drawn in by his friendliness, the late service at the bar was impeccable. Our drinks were completed by professionals and the service was just as I would expect from such a beautiful...

We stayed for 2 nights . The hotel is perfectly located . The garden is beautiful and breakfast is good. Having said that I still don't think it's worth 900 euro per night! The room and bathroom were small and nothing special. Not sure if I will return.

Excellent hotel with professional staff, beautiful rooms and all the comforts. The garden is a beautiful oasis to get away from the overflowing streets of Rome. Beds are comfortable, the bathroom roomy. The only thing missing is the views but you can't have everything.

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
