My wife and I stayed at the Cellini for three nights in April 2008 and were very happy. A great central location near a happening part of Rome. Our room was large by european standards and had a patio. We also loved the large common patio area where all guests on the floor could relax after a hectic day sightseeing....

We have just returned from a weekend in Rome, staying at the lovely Residenza Cellini. The hotel is in a good location, ideal for walking to many of the sights, as well as being within a few minutes walk of the terminii, metro and bus stops. The staff were extremely helpful and the information they gave us about what to...

Wonderful hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Needed to call US. Suggested phone card, where to purchase, and helped with use. Computer available without charge. Wonderful breakfast with wide variety of choices. Nice outdoor, covered deck/patio for evening drink or take-out dinner if too tired to go to a restaurant. Great location, near train station. Good market several blocks south...

I was a bit unsure about booking this hotel as I thought due to its size it might be too intimate and I like anonymity. However, after the initial maps & advice at reception which was detailed and helpful, we were on our own unless we required further information ,which was always readily available with an albrite smile. On writing...

We absolutely loved the personal attention a service we received at this cute boutique hotel. The hotel is on the 3rd floor (really the 4th in the U.S. if you decide to use the stairs with luggage!). The gentleman at the desk when we arrived was very courteous and helpful with our luggage and gave us a warm welcome to...

What wonderful service at this small hotel. The location is excellent with easy access to the train station, metro and attractions. The staff was available and very helpful. Their recommendations for attractions, restaurants and directions were on point making our visit a great one. The facilities were spotless and the breakfast much better than we have gotten in other European...

My husband and I spent one night here at the beginning of a 12-day trip in Italy. Our room was lovely and comfortable, but I wouldn't rush to stay here again. The elevator is tiny and has two sets of doors, which makes getting in and out with luggage (and we travel light) annoying enough to remember. And because the...

I have stayed in many hotels around the world. I would rate this hotel ahead of any 5 star I have stayed in. The service is second to none. The morning we were leaving, they offered to make us breakfast eventhough we were leaving an hour before breafast was due to start. When we arrived, the guy at reception spent...

The Residenza Cellini was absolutely perfect. The rooms and bathrooms were beautiful and spotless. The hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful. I have very bad allergies and this is the first place I have stayed where I had no problems. Breakfasts were charming and of course so was the elevator. The location was wonderful--we walked everywhere except for the...

We stayed for 6 nights at the Residenza Cellini and we were delighted with the location, cleanliness, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Advice was given freely on places to visit, bus and metro, places to eat, etc. They really did made us fell very welcome indeed. We were told the area was safe to...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
