My wife and I had our honeymoon in Italy last December. The hotel Embassy was where we stayed in Rome for 5 days. The hotel is only rated average in terms of location, room, services and breakfast. It is located about 10 minutes away from the nearest metro station - Republika and about 15 minutes from the Termini railway station....

My wife and I have just returned from one weeks stay at the Embassy Hotel in Rome. We found it to be clean and comfortable if a little small and basic. Not the place to hang around in but ideal for a good nights sleep. Breakfast is very tedious after a few days. Try to take something from home to...

In terms of Irish accomodation, the Embassy is more of a guest house than a hotel, so don't expect anything too plush. First impressions are not overwhelming; the hotel is tucked away on a side-street and shares a building with an array of other concerns - another hotel, a linguistics institute, some apartments etc. The lift to the rooms (described...

First of all, the staff of this hotel were very cordial and friendly. When I arrived the desk clerk was working very far beyond the call of duty to find a room elsewhere for a traveler who had showed up without reservations. And I especially enjoyed the colorful gentleman who mans the desk at night and is not shy about...

The Embassy was excellent for the price! I spent 10 days here in September with my mother. You must keep in mind that this is a basic hotel, it is not fancy at all. However it was extremely clean, the location was great and the staff were wonderful. The Embassy at $150 Canadian a night, was the most reasonable price...

The Hotel Embassy is basic beyond belief. It is a hotel with a 3-Star rating yet it doesn't really come upto three points of a single star! In the hotel is a reception desk, a scary elevator out of an old horror movie, your room and a breakfast room. The entrance to the hotel gives you the flavour to start,...

Stayed in a four bed room, 2 adults and two children. 4th bed was a pull-out only suitable for our youngest. Room on a corner so very noisy but we were so tired after exploring Rome we had no problem sleeping. Room clean but bathroom and shower SMALL. However, would recommend it as a value for money city hotel, good...

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for the first week of September. We arrived at 01.30am and the receptionist was very pleasant and welcoming. We found all of the staff to be helpful and friendly. We had requested a quiet room (by e-mail) and were given a room which was just as we wanted (room 450). The breakfasts...

The location of this hotel is brilliant, a few street people hanging around but not too bad, we felt safe enough walking back in the early hours of the morning. The hotel staff were brilliant, particulary the guy at reception who spoke very good English. He recommended and circled areas on a map of Rome that he gave us, we...

For 120Euro I expected more! The room was very very small - slightly larger than the size of a double bed. Bathroom tiny The lift was old, small and inconvenient (we travelled with a 7 month girl) But: Aircondition was fantastic Breakfast was decent Location good Room Clean Overall - if the room would have been bigger I would recommend...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
