You sought of know what to expect based upon the room rate you pay, and this hotel was not luxurious but met the family' expectations. Firstly it was safe, hotel was 10 minutes walk from underground, which was safe to walk to at all times with children. Secondly it was hygienic. Room was clean, air conditioning had an annoying water...

This is an older but clean and well-run hotel which is a little way away from Rome's main attractions. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is close to the uni so there are some great value food and drink venues nearby.

Room was clean and kinda spacious, toilette being small tho. The sink wasn't even in the bathroom. Big and cozy bed. Working air conditioning. Room included balcony. Near two metro stations so location is ok. Breakfast was okay; bread, youghurt, pastries etc.. no fruit or vegetable tho.. that was a little bit of a disappoiment. reception open 24/7.

The hotel is very simple but good! The room is small but comfortable. The wifi signal is good even in the room! The staff is amazing: very friendly and helpful making you feel like you are home. The location is okay, even though it is not in the historic center of Roma, it is in a safe and pleasant university...

Me and my mother stayed here a Christmas present from me. When I booked it I was happy with the price, a lot of value for money. As English speaking people we had difficulty at times trying to communicate with reception and housekeepers however there was a woman with brown hair who spoke great English and was even able to...

Crappy hotels are all over the world. But this one... deserves a new category of "BAD". Lets begin: * Didn't get the room we booked! Payed for it but got a crappier one. * Breakfast is almost vending machine quality.. almost! Vending machines are better. * Bed - too hard!! Sleeping on the floor would be a better idea. *...

Upon arriving we were told that the check-in was only possible after 2pm. This hadn't been mentioned before nor did I see it on their site...so we asked if we could leave our luggage to go out again. Seeing as we had arrived at 10am, we thought it best to go exploring without a suitcase. They let us put our...

I booked it being the only hotel in a budget, hotel not apartment, in Rome not suburbs - close to transportation (max 3 metro stops to the heart of the city), able to accommodate family with 2, breakfast included. Looking over the other reviews I was expecting having a fight at c/in with my friends. The hotel is in a...

Travelling with two young children (11 & 6) to Rome was never going to be easy but we did well for our first time in Rome. The hotel was ok for us, it was clean and we only slept there but - it was so noisy! It is situated in the university area of Rome so every night is party...

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
