The Hotel Trastevere is conveniently located: just a few minutes’ walk from the Piazza de Santa Maria. This offers the convenience of being in the center of things in Trastevere but in a quieter location, away from the fountain and square. This was a real...More
This hotel is fairly priced and that is exceptional for Rome. The location is easy walking to the main sites (Vatican, Colosseum, Forum, Piazza Popolo, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain +++) and when you're tired of the tourist mobs it's a pleasant and quiet retreat. The...More
The hotel staff and personnel at Hotel Trastevere are outstanding and extremely knowledgeable on all matters we asked of them. The hotel is in good condition for Trastevere; however, we did not go to Rome to hang out in the hotel. My wife and I,...More
Great location for all trastevere, after days out sightseeing was good to come back and go straight out with everything for the evening on our doorstep. Very friendly, helpful and informative staff. Room was perfectly adequate, good hot shower, free wi fi and all the...More
Great location in centre of trastevere. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room quality is adequate. The night we stayed was unfortunately very noisy - lots of hallway traffic, voices and door slamming which are easily audible from the rooms
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
Hotel Trastevere is a few minutes walk to buses and trams, there is also a light bus that goes to piazza garibaldi and continues to the Vatican. As for night life it's all literally just around the corner.....

We did the trip the other way around. Took the train from Civitavecchia to Trastevere and the tram from just outside the station to a short walk to the hotel. We had the hotel reserve a car for us to the airport on leaving so we were confident we would arrive in time. We each had a moderate size suitcase and are seniors, but managed fine. All the hotel staff are very helpful with any information.
