This was our first time in Rome and was post cruise. Our arrival was a little earlier than expected, but the wonderful staff offered us a safe place to store our luggage as well as a map of the area to explore until our room...More
We are just finishing a four day stay at Hotel Smeraldo in Rome. This is an excellent hotel in the heart of historic Rome that is in walking distance to nearly all Rome historic sites--we found none we could not walk to, even in sweltering...More

It is my first time in Rome and I had no idea what to expect! The cab ride from the airport is a fixed rate in Rome which is great for budgeting at 48 Euro. I was so happy when I arrived at the Hotel...More
The location is perfect. Just a 10/15 min walk to Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Navona square.
Mattei square is kinda just around the corner too.
It is really close to the Colosseum and Foro Romano as well if you don't mind an extra 5 mins walk....More

With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighbourhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa
drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.
I always travel solo. I am not usually out past 10 in the evening, but I have felt very safe there. Love the hotel and staff. This year will be my third trip to Rome and third stay at Hotel Smeraldo. Hope that helps!
