At the top of the Spanish Steps, in Piazza Trinità dei Monti, one of the most beautiful places in Rome, from where you can admire the most beautiful panorama, you will find, in a 19th century building, the Hotel Scalinata di Spagna, delightful and small hotel full of charm, offering an enchanting view over the roofs and domes of Rome. This small 3-star hotel, managed directly by the owners and recently renovated, offers a discreet and refined environment that will make you feel like guests of an elegant private house overlooking the beauties of the city. You can admire the incredible views offered by the veranda and terrace, perfect for having breakfast, buffet, or to contemplate the sunset over the Roman roofs. The rooms, furnished both in a classic and refined style, and in a modern and minimal style, two of which with a private panoramic terrace and four with a panoramic balcony, offer a welcoming atmosphere, an original style, together with all the comforts: WiFi and LCD TV Free SKY satellite, free minibar, coffee machine and tea kettle in the room and in the breakfast room and daily turndown service. A newly built annex in Piazza di Spagna, adjacent to Palazzo Valentino, houses deluxe rooms, equipped with all the necessary comforts and panoramic balconies from which to admire this magical corner of Rome.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at this lovely hotel. We stayed in the annex building at the bottom of the steps. It was spacious with an awesome new bathroom with a rain shower. The room had a balcony and overlooked the piazza, but was very quiet. The breakfast was on the rooftop with wondeful views and plenty of options. The staff was friendly and helpful. Perfect location and great value!

Scalinata di Spagna is my elegant home while in beautiful Rome. The hotel is in the perfect location with breathtaking vistas from nearly every room. The rooms are perfectly designed with each traveler's needs in mind. The choices at breakfast are perfect and there are more views to enjoy while drinking morning coffe with a fresh cornetto. The staff is warm and welcoming, always. My favorite hotel !

This is a quaint, authentic hotel located high on a hill in Rome. The views from the street are breathtaking, and you'll get your exercise walking up and down the steps and hills in the neighborhood- and it's well worth it. The hotel staff is top notch. All were fluent in English which helped us quite a bit. When we checked in, we were greeted very pleasantly and personally shown to our room and various features pointed out. The room was true to the hotel- not the most "modern" furnishings but very very comfortable. Refrigerator in room, every day a re-stock of bottled water, a safe, great internet connection, and a modern, clean bathroom. Breakfast was wonderful. So much to choose from. Eggs, bacon, tons of pastries and various croissants, and many coffee products. So clean and nice on a covered rooftop terrace. The staff here clearly cares and is clearly proud of their hotel and they not only keep it up well, but really understand hospitality and we will absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful, nice small hotel, atop the hill of the Spanish steps, centrally located. Sweet newly renovated and decorated room, small porch adjacent to the room, newly renovated bathroom, totally functional, and generous, tasty breakfast. Hotel staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. My only comment is that this hotel is a bit challenging for seniors. No elevator, 20 steps, walk up to our room, steps in the entrance to the dining room and getting into our room so that may be a bit of a challenge for an elderly guest. Other than that we are very happy with this hotel. Highly recommended

Gorgeous little hotel right in the middle of everything, great staff, the room was very clean and had a view of the Piazza di Spagna on one side as well as the Campidolio on the other side. Breakfast was included even though i was there for 2 days only, delicious and also the staff was extremely helpful. Will go back for sure when I am back in Rome! Highly recommend a stay ther!

I was the group leader of a group from South Africa and we stayed over at this lovely hotel! Unfortunately we had to walk from the bus stop to the hotel as you can only reach hotel with small vehicle, but on our arrival the staff was very friendly to accommodate us..... The rooms are very good...... Really really good and I do know some of the rooms do have great views! Good breakfast and only a few meters next to the Spanish Steps. (top side) We will definitely book with this hotel again in the near future! Great value for money and a wonderful, central location to explore Rome!

This was a fabulous place to stay in Rome! Our host Fabrizio was so very nice to store our luggage until our rooms were ready...and our rooms were wonderful... so very spacious and we especially loved the huge shower with heated towel rack. They have a wonderful breakfast buffet that we enjoyed every morning, along with the delicious cappucino and croissants. This hotel is at the top of the Spanish Steps, which is a perfect location for looking out over this marvelous city. We would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to return!

Wow, what can I say. Fabrizio Jemma was the perfect gracious host. He made sure our 3 night stay was memorable. Fabrizio regaled us with some stories and provided restaurant recommendations. He even escorted us to our room after we checked in. My sister and I brought my elderly mother to Italy for a trip of her lifetime. We were so surprised and thrilled to find we had been upgraded to the panoramic suite with private terrace overlooking what felt like the entire city. The modern room was beautiful and spacious. We enjoyed the sunrise views and at night, the city lights with wine out on the terrace. Conveniently, we bought wine from the hotel restaurant downstairs. The hotel location was perfect atop the Spanish Steps. The only hiccup was the fact the metro stop was closed, hence no elevator. That had been key to choosing this hotel but no fault of the hotel. My 83 year old mother was a trouper and we tried to minimize the times we had to walk up. This was the end of our 2 week trip so we started talking more taxis too. (There was always a taxi right outside the hotel) The breakfast room was lovely and a great way to greet the day. Generous selection of pastries and cakes. Chocolate cake for breakfast anyone? It was hard to leave the old world charm of our host and his beautiful hotel. Thank you for taking care of us. We highly recommend this gorgeous hotel that is close to the Spanish Steps but away from the crowds.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel, which comprises multiple buildings around the Spanish Steps. The staff was attentive and the location was convenient. The original rooms have a warm old-world charm. The newer rooms have more of a modern look and feel.
