My wife and myself had booked the Hotel Azzura in Rome but when we arrived, we were told that there was no room available for us, even though we had booked and paid through Travel Republic. Nice girl there said, "No problem, you can have a room at the Hotel Marcus and we will pay for the taxi!' What was...

Stayed here for my honeymoon for two weeks in October 2010. The rooms are very small. There is a night club underneath the hotel and the techno music usually goes on til 4am. So sleeping was very difficult. The hotel is very small and you can hear everything in the hallways. Aurora was awesome she is a very sweet lady...

i can't believe this hotel is stil in business - this hotel was one of the worst places I've ever stayed. it would have been bad by itself, but if the owner/management was nice I would have given it a pass. but the owner was dishonest and mean. we planned to come to rome for 2 nights but decided to...

Be very careful when booking! They are definitely incompetent: I booked via phone, they assured me, without asking anything else but my mobile number. When I got in (at 9 P.M.) they said "Well, I'm sorry, no room free for you, I sold your room to another person". They explained this because I didn't give my credit card details, which...

Despite the fact that the hotel is farther that "just 300 m from the subway" as they said. Everything else is fantastic, clean, quite and with a great location. Enjoy Rome and enjoy you stay.

We stayed at this hotel and I will definitely recommend. The location is perfect! It's walking distance to Spanish Steps - one of the landmark in Rome. It's also located in the Central area where you can just walk along and pass by to the shopping area, name all the brands - LV, Channel, Prada, Gucci etc etc. and most...

This hotel does not look like the pictures shown online. We had to climb 2 steep flights of stairs (elevator not in order), were led down hall and some stairs which we had to "duck" to clear the low archway which led us to room #15, marked by masking tape on the door. Mop, bucket, vacuum, etc. outside of room....

Our room at Hotel Marcus was absolutely terrible. The lights did not work properly, the shower tiles were broken, the bathroom smelled like a sewer, and the door that led to the balcony, which was shared by other guests, was broken and would not lock. Some strange noise from the air conditioning unit would routinely kick on at night, which...

When you arrive at the hotel you'll probably get the feeling that you just got punk'd. The hotel is actually at the second floor of a really old building. I mean, really old. So it's uphills from there. The hotel itself looks really good and if you don't arrive too late (or too early) you'll probably get to know Aurora....

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
