My family and I spent the days between Christmas and New Year's Eve 2011 in Rome where we stayed at Hotel Grifo. We picked the hotel after closely examining different hotels and their rating at Tripadvisor and we definitely made the right choice, This hotel has about the most perfect location in Rome I can imagine. The relaxing Boschetto street...

If Joe Bradley had taken the Princess to the Hotel Grifo, there would have been a decidedly different outcome. Nonetheless, the Hotel Grifo more than makes up for what it lacks in glamor and panache with outstanding value and a superb location. From the tiny room on the top floor, you have a view, albeit narrow, of the Coliseum and...

This is my first review and not something I usually do but this hotel deserves one. The hotel was wonderful, the staff are very friendly and polite and made us feel very welcome. Rome is a city made for walking as any form of transport, you will end up missing something so please just brave it and walk. The hotel...

This small hotel is located in the heart of Old Rome. Easy walking distance to the Colosseum, the Forum, Trevi Fountain and many other "must see" sights. There are some excellent restaurants in the area that the concierge will recommend if asked. The hotel staff are very friendly and are more than willing to assist you. The rooms are compact...

the location and the staff are to be mentioned. Breakfast very poor, rooms just basic and very cold. Bathroom is at the last days of its life.

The hotel is ideally located in the vicinity of Colosseo, Forum Romanum and other main historical attractions and also metro station is very close. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Yet,the rooms were a bit of a disappointment for me- they were quite small and basic (I understand these are old buildings), mostly what disturbed us was the...

The location of this hotel is perfect!! There is a restaurant down the street and a gelato shop nearby. Although the rooms were really old it was reasonably clean. Breakfast was simple but good. Free Internet wifi was also available!

As has already been said, the location of this hotel is brilliant!! you dont need metro passes as most of the places you will want to visit are walking distance!! but if you do want the metro its 5 min walk away! Grifo is in an old building on a charming cobbled street , right in the centre of rome!...

The main benefit of this hotel is its location within walking distance of most of the main sites, and is a good price for that reason. It was basically clean with friendly staff. The rooms we had were a bit tired (perhaps the renovation hadnt reached them) but clean and reasonably comfortable. All we needed as we were out all...
