We stayed here for five nights around the time of the six nations rugby. We had a fabulous room with a balcony and enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was basic , but free, and offered a range of cereal, pastries, cheese, ham and bread. We never had issues getting a seat. Staff were pleasant and had no problem printing tickets for...

Stayed at this hotel for three nights. Conveniently located near train station and all other transport links, which is inexpensive. The area itself is flooded with ethnic minority's. Be prepared to be asked to purchase everything from scarfs, key rings etc. You would really want to be street smart staying in this area. Petty crime, pick pockets etc. All major...

This Hotel is very conveniently located and is very competitively priced. It is a short walk to Rome Central Railway Station. It is only a short walk to the Colosseum and there are many small shops and Restaurant's close by.

Our suspicions were aroused when we had to pay on arrival, not departure. The reception and restaurant area is very nice, however the rooms are dusty, damp, no hot water in the sink, the shower has vertically no water pressure. I feel conned.

Just returned to UK after 4 nights at hotel Contilia. Firstly it is literally 100 yards from Termini station (where all the trains/bus/tram/taxi work from. I googled earthed the exact route from the left hand side of station so I recognised the landmarks! The hotel is exactly like the photos on the web site. Looks small but it's huge inside...

We booked it through booking.com and I must say that all the details that led me to that choice were misleading. The room that was supposed to be 22 sqm wasn't more than 14 sqm and breakfast was awful. A lot of cold pastry and not even boiled eggs. The only good thing was that the station is two blocks...

I was very anxious after reading the reviews of this hotel on Tripadvisor, as I had already done the booking for my stay in Rome. For us it was totally opposite to the scary reviews I had read on this website. The room was in the same building, internet service was excellent, food was good. What more could I expect...

I would like to share with you guys a bad experience with a worker called Ahmad in the Reception. As i once came back to the Hotel on 1:30 O'Clock at night my room mate was already sleeping and he wasnt answering the Phone. He had the Keys inside the room. I had only a second Key for the room...

Stayed here at the end of Nov 2016. Initially a bit worried as we were taken to a completely separate building and walked though a courtyard up steps to what could only be described as a converted apartment, where we were shown to one of the rooms. The rooms were very clean but a little dark and secluded, maybe because...

Very comfortable hotel. Very good location. Very good breakfast. Staff is helpful and speak English. Ideal hotel for people who wants me to visit and explore Rome. Very small rooms, the floor is tiled, not carpeted. This creates a little discomfort.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
