My husband and I have just returned from Rome, staying 4 nights at the River Palace to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The hotel is beautifully presented, and although our bedroom was quite small, it was very clean and had everything we needed. Each evening, a couple of chocolates were left on our pillow with a card advising what the...

We stayed here for our honeymoon and we not disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar had happy hour from 6 to 10 every night with free food. The breakfast was great. We would stay here again for sure.

The River Palace Hotel is perfectly situated near to the Piazza del Poppolo in Rome and a great base for couples exploring the city. The rooms are decadent and superbly clean with lovely bathrooms. There is an excellent array of breakfast treats each morning. Each night the staff take the time to turn down the bed covers, leave chocolates on...

Great location, excellent service, wonderful breakfast - we just loved this hotel and would recommend it tour friends. this has been the only hotel that suggested restaurants that were truly magnificent. Our travel agent in Australia recommended this hotel, and we can't thank the enough.

We stayed at the River Palace for four days following a transatlantic cruise. We were offered an upgrade to a larger room which we accepted given the amount of luggage we had. Room was clean, bed comfortable, bathroom well appointed. Location was ideal, enabling us to walk to many attractions. Metro located nearby. Breakfast was more than ample. Staff was...

We booked this hotel almost a year in advance as a stop on our honeymoon. The morning of our check in day we were informed that the hotel was overbooked and could not accommodate us. Um...ok. They moved us to a hotel that I would never have chosen to stay in. Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed.

If you're visiting Rome and looking for a hotel that has a great location, nearby transportation, plentiful shopping/restaurants, and historic sites all within walking distance, it's hard to beat Rome's River Palace on the northwest side of the city. We stayed here last few days as we were wrapping up a month-long trip through Italy, and were happy we did....

Staying in Parioli

Neighbourhood Profile
Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavour of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
