Stayed here for four nights and was very pleased with it. The only drawback is that if you arrive later than 9pm to check in there is a surcharge. It is well located on a great street with a tram stop outside the door. The area has lots of interesting shops and cafes. It is also within walking distance of...

Well-located (near Bocca della verità, and quite a selection of buses that will take you into the city centre), spacious room and bathroom, bright, clean and well kept. Liana, who checked me in, was extremely helpful, gave me a warm welcome as well as all of the information I might need about the Guesthouse and the area (Testaccio). All in...

149 is just perfect for your stay in Rome. The guesthouse is immaculate throughout and Lianma is just lovely, she organised taxi transfers to and forth the airport for us and gave us a wondrrful welcome. We will definately return ourselves and recommend to friends. We had a wonderful special first trip to Italy here.

We had a fabulous stay in the guesthouse. Liana, our host was wonderful and very helpful. The room was always cleaned to a very high standard and was decorated beautifully. The location was great, an easy 20 min walk to the piazza de Venezia. Would love to go back for another city break.

There are just too many great things to say about 149 Gueshouse! Liana was fantastic - she contacted me immediately after booking to give me information relating to transportation to the hotel from the airport. I traveled with my sister and it was her first time in Europe, which I had mentioned when I booked the hotel, and they made...

The room was very clean and with good facilities. But, I stayed during the summer and the air conditioning was broken.. I could not sleep very well. The street was noisy during the whole night. The breakfast was poor. Just some crackers and smal cakes,a bottle of milk, and two small orange juices.

Lianne was waiting for us when we arrived with smiles and maps and tons of helpful advice. Our room was lovely and clean and a great location to hop on and off buses and the metro. Loved walking through Testaccio area, MUST go to Volpetti's deli down the road. Close to a laundromat and many great restaurants. The only thing...

We stayed here after a booking problem with another B&B in Rome, overall this B&B wasn't as nice as the previous B&B we stayed in be it was a clean secure room which is really all we needed. (see my other review) Although the establishment is named guesthouse I didn't really feel like a guest in anyone's house since we...

Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Testaccio
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
