This is a hotel chosen by our tour operator. While it isn't in the city center the Metra is about 5 blocks away and will take you there easily. We appreciated the terrace for our breakfast. While it's true of all hotels in Italy that we stayed in, getting coffee in the morning shouldn't be so hard. Set up some kind of coffee service in the am. The room was clean and comfortable. Would stay here again

Dear eltotaupin, Thank you for your positive feedback about the hotel. It is good to know that thanks to our proximity to the largest station in Rome, it was easy to reach the various points of the city. The terrace for breakfast sounds lovely, and it's always a nice bonus to have a comfortable and clean room. You probably left our hotel before the breakfast room opened, but your suggestion to establish a coffee service in the morning is a valid point. We hope that the hotel management will take note of this feedback and consider implementing this service for future guests. Overall, it sounds like you had a pleasant stay and would be willing to stay at this hotel again. Thank you for sharing your positive experience, and we hope you have more enjoyable travels in the future! Kind regards, Leandro Assistant Guest Relations Ateneo Garden Palace - Rome

10/10 . What a find in this price range. Rooms are immense, double the size of a traditional North American room. Fridge, huge wardrobe, desk, standard North American private bathroom. Don't be dissuaded by the term "double bed" if you are North American, it actually means King. Walk down from Termini train station is a bit sketchy but is walkable with luggage. Emmanuel at the main desk is very helpful and kind. Definitely would come back!

Dear ChapmanFamily614, It sounds like you had a fantastic stay at the hotel! The spacious rooms and amenities exceeded your expectations, and it's great to hear that the double bed was actually king-sized. The location may have been a bit of a challenge, but you were still able to get there with your luggage, and the staff, particularly Emmanuel, was helpful and kind. Thank you for sharing your positive experience, and we hope to see you back soon! Kind regards, Leandro Assistant Guest Relations Ateneo Garden Palace - Rome

A little off-putting from the exterior...but really nice inside. Helpful staff! We were made to feel really at home! Our room opened to a nice courtyard with a fountain. I would go back there again! The breakfast was just fine!

I enjoyed my stay. Room was clean and quiet. It is a 10 minute walk from Roma Termini. It is not close to all of the most important places in Rome but thankfully to this it is quiet when you need to rest in peace after full day of sightseeing. There’s No restaurant but they do serve breakfast 7-10 every morning on the terrace. There is No view from it but it is a nice touch to have breakfast outside. If you are looking for a hotel near main attractions this won’t be your Choice. There are three things I was missing in this hotel: - No tea/coffee set in the room so whenever I wanted a hot drink I had to go to cafes near train station - wifi signal was very weak and kept disconnecting - No english channels on tv Service was really nice and helpful.

Dear MandiThePill, Thank you choosing the Garden Palace Hotel and for taking the time to tell us about your experience. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the tranquillity of our hotel, which is well connected to the city's main tourist attractions and very close to Rome's main train station. The hotel has many satellite channels in English. We would have loved to have been able to suggest which channels to watch English tv. We apologize to you if you had difficulty making the most of our Internet connection during your stay. I have forwarded your kind report to our maintenance department in order to verify the inefficiency. Special thanks for the compliments to our staff! I sincerely hope that we will have an opportunity to welcome you back in the near future. Best regards, Leandro Assistant Guest Relations Ateneo Garden Palace - Rome

We have stayed twice at this reasonably priced hotel. It is a low key place but has great staff a good buffet breakfast on the rooftop. Importantly for us the beds were firm and comfortable. Recommended

The location is convenient for the University and train station, although the walk to/from the station is not going to make you fall in love with Rome and I am not sure 100% safe. The area around the hotel is not the best. The internal courtyard is lovely although nobody was sitting there. The rooms are tired and dated, the mattress hard and dirty (someone spilled a drink) and the shower screen broken. There was a persistent smell of cigarette smoke that seemed to carry via the Aircon. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Most disturbing is that it seems I got bed bugs from this hotel, I thought they were mosquito bites but a knowledgeable friend diagnosed them after my return.

Overall would recommend! We are a young couple whom enjoyed the long park walks to the city center. We are fit and relaxed traveller’s. This area was great for a local city feel. Plenty of restaurants and stores. Access to bus, scooters, bikes, and train was easy. Close to Termini! The very short tunnel underpass is not intimidating. We felt safe, even when crossing at night. Staff and morning breakfast was excellent. Pastries, cheeses, yogurts, and barista coffee options! The wifi was spotty in our rooms but worked perfectly in common areas. Common in Rome. Our biggest complaint was the faulty AC. It did not ever cool down our room adequately so we slept with the windows open. We stayed on the 2nd floor, street facing, which was very loud at night and we received some parting bug bites! But all in all it was sufficient for those looking to explore.

Nice courtyard,Room is ok, bathroom would need some makeover, water drain did not work. The biggest problem was the staff: service is a contradiction in term in this hotel. Variety at breakfast is good, however eggs are cold As no one lights the heaters. There is a bar but staff at reception tells you at 10.30 that bar is closed already and we were 6 guests! The following evening, it was pouring outside, 2 persons at the receptions, but they told us to go further down the street. Staff is definitely not interested in doing business.

Clean, quiet and easy location to access the bus going in and around Rome. Small market and restaurant directly across the street, made for an added perk. Daily breakfast was decent and staff so very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again!
