Close to sights, tram right outside with access to both Colosseum and Trastevere (3 + 8), Terminus (5 + 14). Nice neighborhood, not touristy. Breakfast terrace with a great view over Rome, good coffee, real juice, cereal, yoghurt and fruit + pastry and cake. The place is spectacular with historic feel, 6 m high domed ceilings in the rooms, comfortable...

This was an experience to remember. Our room was actually in the side of the church. It may not be to everyone's taste but we loved being there. At 6 or 7 pm every evening, the gates of the church closed so your foyer then was the foyer of the church. ( The church is a working church and is...

Booked this as it was cheap, we stayed here for 2 weeks. Cannot complain about staff they were all very friendly. Rooms are very very basic and old, not much storage space but was ok for us as not in it much was just for sleeping! Breakfast can't comment on as we went once and didn't really fancy anything so...

We booked the Domus Sessoriana months in advance on Booking.com and got a fantastic deal for five nights bed and breakfast. The hotel is beautiful, as part of an old monastery and with its own church it really is something special. The hotel is adorned with giant canvases and is really atmospheric. Our room was on the third floor (fourth...

If you are looking for an unique experience, this is the place to stay. Has a good location, good breakfast. Much history, something different. Little cold but I was expecting that since was a monastery. Spacious rooms.

Hotel check in was ok although receptionist wasn't going to explain how to get to our rooms so we had to ask. It's a bit of a trek to get to the rooms & we struggled to get our suitcases down the first flight of stairs (the lift did not work). At the end of the corridor there is another...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
