The Taormina Hotel is located about one-half mile from the Rome Termini train station. It can be a little difficult to find, however, it is near the Vittorio Emanuele Metro stop and park. The area is not the best given the recent surge in homeless migrants. However, the hotel itself is well kept and clean and the staff are very...

We enjoyed out stay at the Taormina Hotel. We got around Italy by train and the walk to and from the station wasn't more than 10-15 minutes. We enjoyed the location of the hotel as it wasn't too close to the craziness of Rome but a good walking distance to everything. The receptionists were all kind and helpful. They offered...

Right, this is not the best hotel but it is a good little hotel. We went as a small group of friends two couples different ages. A good clean hotel with towels changed daily. The rooms are lovely and hey, I am picky!. The breakfast is tea, coffee, juice, bread rolls with jam etc. This lasted us through the day,...

The staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is tired, because of a knee injury, we were put in another section of hotel not directly attached to the main. There was a lift, it was rickety and because of tenanted apartments within that building it was often unavailable because of general use. Above our room there was an apartment who...

Situated in not the nicest of areas, the rooms are very small. Have to pay extra to use the wifi and air-conditioning. The hotel itself was not to the best standard. Closest metro station is a 5 minute walk, which is good for accessing the touristic areas of Rome.

All the staff we're very polite and helpful. Rooms are very clean. Breakfast was alright nothing special. It's about 10-15 minute walk from the Central Termini station. The location of the hotel is absolutely disgusting. There is litter, graffiti, urine smelling streets and lots of immigrants that live there on the streets. It's not really a safe place to walk...

After booking more for affordability than anything that's when I went looking and reading reviews and started to get a little nervous. We arrived at about 10pm after getting the train from the airport and we both were so so happy that the hotel was amazing, the man on reception was lovely and helpful we opted for the wifi but...

This hotel has friendly staff, clean room but hard beds. The bathroom was really nice and clean. The breakfast was terrible, three buns on a plate. It's ok if you like jam buns. It's not in a very good area there was lots of rubbish in the streets and graffiti. You need your wits about you as we had a...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
