Wifi was broken for several days and horrible slow when it worked. Ventilator in bathroom were broken and was replaced after a couple of days. Fridge were broken...

I spent over two weeks in Italy, and my last few days were in Rome. Every other hotel was booked, so I had to deal with this place. Upon arrival, my girlfriend and I walked up four very unsettling flights of stairs (literally, because they look like an earthquake just shook them off of course) We walked up to the...

In any other city, this would not even be considered a hotel. Probably not even a motel. This would not even be acceptable as a half way house. The colonies of mold in the shower were a bacterial danger to all who entered. The room opened onto a dumpyard of garbage and refuse, thus the frosted windows. There is no...

The cleaning staff did what they could to keep the room in the very mediocre state it was in when we arrived, but the consistent 10:30 wake up with out other reason then to inform of room cleaning at your floor, and no signs for do not disturb, made the stay worse then it had to be. The breakfast included...

Absolutely terrible!!! Don't even bother booking this hotel. Save your money and go somewhere else. From hotel rooms to staff, everything was nasty about this place. Never ever going back to Hotel Repubblica.

Me and my boyfriend went for a weekend in Rome stayed at this hotel, from the outside it looks nice but inside is a different story. For a start the reception staff were rude just gave us our key, didn't show us to our room, to get to the room either 5 flights of stairs or a dodgy looking elevator...

The rooms are dirty and stink of mould, the entrance to the shower is 30cm wide, there are kids/youths running around inside the hotell, the furniture is broken, there is no access controll as the reception is not actually in the lobby but on the second floor. We dared only stay for 1 night before scuttling out of there before...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
