I don't know about you but where I come from graffiti isn't a good sign. It's a sign of a troubling neighborhood. We got off at termini and took a taxi to the hotel. Thankfully we took the taxi because I think I would have turned around and walked to any other hotel. The hotel itself on the front looks...

Good hotel in slightly down at heal area and a little off the beaten track. The hotel itself is an old, charming building with many pleasant features. Very helpful, friendly staff, good breakfast, free WiFi, happy hour for drinks. Very limited parking is provided although few visitors seem brave/daft enough to take their cars into Rome. The hotel is not...

A charming smaller hotel, just not very close to Rome's main attractions. The staff were genuinely warm and friendly, especially Antonio who was a sweetheart - there's nothing he wouldn't do to help us. Having read some of the reviews here first, we requested a room with a balcony and got the special one (Room 310) with two sun beds,...

We stayed at the Villa San Lorenzo for 4 nights and it was an amazing stay ! The staff was so friendly and there to help its customers. They gave us a map and sat down with us to circle all the major attractions and gave us tips to organize our stay in Rome. One night we ordered drinks on...

Me and my mum stayed at the Villa San Lorenzo Maria for 3 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. From checking in to checking out, the staff and service provided was superb. The breakfast in the mornings had a good variety, the hotel was very clean and well maintained. The setting of the hotel in it's beautiful grounds is...

The Hotel: Its not high end but its a lovely, quaint old building. Clean and bright during the day. If you want top notch stay at the Hyatt. The room we stayed in was quite small with hardly anywhere to put luggage. The furniture is "Old Europe" but functional. A/c was quiet and functional. Window opened up to a rough...

The staff was extraordinary, helping us with everything. Very friendly, especially Allesandro ! The breakfast was great with everything you wish for. The neighbourhood is very nice with a loth of good and cheap restaurants. You get as many free cappuccinos as you like at the hotel. Good place to stay during your visit to Rome.

Haven to return to after a days' sightseeing. Chilled and laid back atmosphere. All staff very friendly and pleasant and the most helpful I have ever encountered anywhere. Clean, comfortable, good breakfast and made our stay in Rome very enjoyable.

Great hotel, nice small room with terrace. Very kindly staff. Warm Welcome. Good breakfast and very clean. Location worse but hotel is fine. Bus stop and grocery around the corner, so that's ok to get some. Colleseo about 6 stops with bus.

The hotel, the staff especially the manager Antonio, and breakfasts were excellent. Yes the hotel was away from the main sights but the bus/metro are cheap and very accessible. They were extremely helpful recommending restaurants or sightseeing. I would definely go back.

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
