Good location if you are not wanting to be right in the centre of Rome. Extremely handy for trams to Colleseum in 1 direction and to The Vatican in the other. Beware tho' that the older trams do NOT have air conditioning and can be uncomfortable in the peak hours.Hotel itself is clean and well run with attention to detail....

Love this little hidden gem in the Roman's Rome - the local supermarket is next door! The manager comes around every morning to ask how your trip is going and will help with any query you have. If I get the chance to go back to Rome I'm staying here.

Loved everything about our stay from brilliant service to our room on ground floor direct access to courtyard. Easy access to all attractions from tram a short walk away. Area can appear run down but felt really safe at night no problems experienced at all. Only slight niggle was restaurant recommended by hotel meal was worst we had was laden...

From the moment we arrived after our long trans-atlantic flight, they greeted us with great service. Didn't even have to lug our bags upstairs. They gave us a complimentary cappuccino as we waited for our room out in the quaint courtyard. Antonio, our concierge, was amazingly helpful in guiding us for our sightseeing trips in Rome. He knew exactly what...

Villa San Lorenzo Maria Hotel, Rome, Lazio, Italy is a very nice hotel, slightly away from Rome's city center, in an interesting neighborhood. There is graffiti everywhere! But don't let this bother you. The Hotel is very nice, and there are lots of good and interesting restaurants and shops nearby. The Tram line is only a minute away, and from...

Stayed here from April 20th for a week, had a lovely room with a balcony. Staff were all very helpful and friendly, gave us great advice for our first visit to Rome. Breakfast was good, plenty choice of food. We got a travel card and were out every day, tram stop is 2 mins away. Loved our stay and would...

My boyfriend and I stayed in this gorgeous hotel for 3 nights over the May bank holiday weekend. We stayed in a double room on the second floor - which was very clear and the bathroom was nice and big. The room was beautifully decorated, bright, and had a large window that let the sunlight shine in. The window also...

My sister and I took our first trip overseas together and booked this hotel while visiting Rome. We were greeted by Antonio and Alesandro immediately and they made us feel comfortable and right at home. We started with beverages on the patio where Antonio took 15 minutes out of his day to provide us maps and give us traveling tips...

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
