My boyfriend and I stayed in this gorgeous hotel for 3 nights over the May bank holiday weekend. We stayed in a double room on the second floor - which was very clear and the bathroom was nice and big. The room was beautifully decorated, bright, and had a large window that let the sunlight shine in. The window also... More

My sister and I took our first trip overseas together and booked this hotel while visiting Rome. We were greeted by Antonio and Alesandro immediately and they made us feel comfortable and right at home. We started with beverages on the patio where Antonio took 15 minutes out of his day to provide us maps and give us traveling tips... More

Villa San Lorenzo Maria hotel is a peaceful haven in an otherwise trendy and lively student area near La Sapienza University. Classic, elegant furnishings, excellent breakfast and extremely friendly and helpful staff. The hotel also has a bar and beautiful outdoor area. Centrally located near the San Lorenzo Basilica and Porta Maggiore, and not too far from Termini Station, there... More

We booked this hotel for a week long visit during the Easter holiday. It is not in the center of the city, but everything was available by tram, bus or Metro. The staff here was perfect. I take that back, they were beyond perfect. We dealt a lot with GianFranco, but everyone there is very attentive to your every need.... More

I reserved this room for my parents, who are on their 70's to spend two weeks in Rome. They said that everything was perfect. The room very clean, and comfortable (on the small side). The staff super attentive and the breakfast very generous. They went there to celebrate their birthdays and the hotel administration left a bottle of wine with... More

The best thing about the place is the old world feel. The place has roman style decor and even the rooms have old style furniture, windows and doors. Makes you feel you've come to stay with your wealthy friend Lorenzo :-D Breakfast is quite nice and service is super!

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
