I stayed here with a friend who had made the online booking. While the hotel sounded good - as did the reviews - the website maybe didn't do justice to the experience of staying here. We had rooms that were like little houses, letting on to the lovely garden space while everything was very clean and traditionally stylish. There also...

Staff and location were great. Nice and quiet area but not too far a walk away from the attractions in the centre. Taxi to the Colluseum was only €8 though. Room was fantastic with big bed and plenty of space. It also had an electronic safe for valuables. The Taxi ordering from the hotel was great and they only took 2 mins...

All roads lead to Rome, they said and it's true, for me I took more than 30 years to find the right road, but when I finally found it, I was very happy. And my lucky was to find a place for my visit to the very unbelievably stunning Hotel Villa San Pio 🙏 Location 5 ⭐️, Service 5 ⭐️,...

This hotel is in a quiet and peaceful area about 5-10 minutes walk from the nearest Metro station. It has a beautiful garden that you walk through to get to the bar/breakfast area, with a friendly resident cat who was keeping an eye on proceedings at breakfast. The staff are very friendly, the breakfast is good. Our room was clean...

The room was nice, but the bed is lower to the floor, which is typical European style. The shower is small and again typical of European style, but adequate. The breakfast provided was typical European, but very good and plenty of coffee and espresso. Nice room for the breakfast. Our room had a patio which overlooked the neighborhood. Desk staff...

Cute, quaint, wonderful, precious and just great. The staff was friendly, informative, helpful and gracious. The surroundings were just so beautiful. The breakfast buffet wasn't one of the best we've had in Europe, but the surrounding beauty made up for a few offerings that weren't there. Our only complaint of the entire experience was we couldn't get the air conditioning...

This is a cute, quiet, comfortable, moderately priced hotel near the center of Rome. It has lovely gardens, a nice courtyard, and a beautiful indoor/outdoor breakfast facility. The breakfast is included, but isn't great. The rooms are good-sized and modest, but ours had a huge balcony where we could sit out and enjoy the evening. You won't find as nice...

Our room had a wonderful veranda. This was a peaceful place to end a busy day of touring. The location is safe, convenient and not at all touristy. Hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The gardens and courtyard were just gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious with lots of special touches. I can't say enough about...

I can't say enough in praise of this gorgeous hotel. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and appropriately decorated for the building. The gardens are lovely with the bar set back in them. Sergio, the barman who does everything and always with a smile is the real gem in this lovely hotel. The beds were large and comfortable, the room immaculately...

Staying in Aventine

Neighbourhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
