This Hostel had a great location being only a 20 minute walk to the coliseum and many other attractions of rome. Also very close to transit to get all around town. The price was great and the facilities were very clean compared to many of the other hostels I had visited. The entire building is the hostel including the basement...

I paid a ridiculously low price on aunergesdejeunesse.com-- a French hostel site. It said that breakfast was included, but it was not. However, I ate them anyways and you can choose between two kinds of breakfasts-- Italian or American. The Italian is 4€, and the American is 8€. They're both delicious. Even though they were not free, you won't find...

It is a wonderful hostel. Please remember it's a hostel and not a hotel. When I was there the front desk staff was extremely warm and hospitable. At that time they provided a juice pack and a cup cake for free for breakfast daily. The front desk girl was friendly and went out of her way to make me comfortable...

This place is disgusting - the website falsely advertised their hostel and the management photos on this page are not real. I had to pay a 10 euro deposit for my key card and once inside my room, there was a weird, nasty vibe to it. I came back and another dude was there and he smoked in the room...

Super friendly staff with good clean rooms. Mario is a great host and knows Rome inside out. He made our trip fun and easy to get around the city. Croissants almost around the clock for 1 euro and a vending machine loaded with water and beer. Grazie Mario and crew!!!

Okay, beds creaky, toilets stinky! But it's a great location, easy to find off the bus, walk to everything you need, staff are friendly, discount in 'front room' restaurant below which was the best we had eaten in Rome for €7 Was pricey €52 for 2 nights each. We got there quite late too! It has a kitchen and fridge!...

For around £25 a night it was a good price for a good location in Rome. There wasn't a very hostel vibe as the common area wasn't very comfy; just some tables and fold out chairs. The wifi was only in this area not the rooms. The staff were friendly but kept to themselves a bit. Less of a hostel...

Staff are super lovely and helpful. There's a good vibe at the hostel - definitely very easy to make friends. Our room was also clean and the beds comfortable, my only complaint being that the bathroom was slightly grim and a bit cramped.

Great place to stay in Rome. Very accommodating and helpful staff, they let us change our room right when we arrived, and gave us a map the first day. No wifi in the rooms, but there is wifi in the lobby. We had a private room, and it was very big and clean. I would recommend this place to anyone...

The day we arrive the girl in the reception couldn't tell us at what hour we could enter our room, she answered us in a cynical way telling us "you are going to do sightseeing right? Come in a couple of hours" The room wouldn't even lock, it didn't even have a fan, I would got up in the middle...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
