Good value and location. Older hotel near train station with ancient elevator - but it works! Five floors up if you want to walk for exercise. Rest of building appears to be offices and/or apts. Decent breakfast for only 5e. Pleasant desk staff and excellent cleaning staff. Good wifi speed.

Thank you Luciano and the gracious staff at Hotel Orazia for making our trip to Rome a most memorable adventure. Do not be put off by the exterior of Hotel Orazia. Once you reach the top floor (in the old fashioned elevator...sorta scary but fun!) you realize "you can't judge a book by its cover." We changed our room to...

This hotel is convenient for the Termini Station which is also the drop-off point for the airport shuttles. It is an easy 10 minute walk from here. The hotel was unexpected because it is on the 5th floor of a very large building overlooking the Piazza Victore Emanuale. Once "buzzed in" you are greeted by a very big impressive marble...

The room we had was comfortable enough and spacious with plenty of storage space and room to move around. It probably could have done with a freshen up though as the wallpaper was peeling in quite a few places. The room itself seemed clean enough however the shower seemed very grubby to me and I was quite reluctant to use...

Clean, efficient, affordable hotel, close to train station. Beds aren't very comfortable, and the walls are thin -- we could hear voices from adjoining rooms. But the staff is kind and helpful, the breakfast was good, the rooms were spacious. Everything was bright and clean, and it was in a convenient, easy-to-access location.

Great location! 10 minute walk to the colosseum, right beside the metro station and 10 minute walk from the main train station. The hotel took two payments from my account first of all, which I had to claim back one of my payments otherwise I would have paid double the price. Next of all the staff weren't overly welcoming. They...

I took my son's on a weekend visit to Rome, the Orazia hotel was ideally placed for our budget. However, from the moment I booked to checking out the experience was less than ideal. Without going into too much detail, the hotel took two payments from my card, the room smelt like a sewer and it was a two bed...

The locations and rooms are perfect and cheap in that order. Don't do as we did and walk all the way up to reception the first time, the elevator, though dated, will get you there just faster and without murdering your legs in cold blood.

Simple, nice and clean hotel in a great location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. If you are looking for a luxury and modern place, you should consider other options. Downstairs on the corner of Ferruccio and Buonarroti Streets there is an amazing restaurant where you can get delicious lunch or an evening meal.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
