Staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. Feels like your staying in someone's home. Hostel is very tiny. Nice outdoor garden, only open during the day, no other common room. Free amazing coffee & pastry in the morning. Wifi works well rooms, only one PowerPoint in room. Location is not far from bus, tram, metro stops.

Stayed here for 4 days last week. Marvellous location and an overall fantastic experience. The security is very good, only downfall I can think of is that it's relatively hard to find. We let the owners know that we'd only check in at around 11pm but they accommodated us very well. Thanks homeslices

Great priced accommodation for proximity to transport and Roma attractions. Bit noisy with window open because of trains, but if you're tired from sightseeing, this will not be a problem. Hostess was very personable with the guests which made us feel welcome. Need to get the timing right if you're a bit uncomfortable with showering in shared bathroom (refer other...

Spent two nights here. The beds are comfy, a range of facilities and overall a pleasant time. Location is perfect if you're coming/going from the train terminal. A bit isolated from main tourist spots of that's what you're after.

This hostel is well situated, not too far from the train station and tube. The owner is very sweet and personal, and very helpful. Wifi in the hall. No air conditioning. Croissant and drink in the morning. Clean. No kitchen. You can leave your bags after you check out. Felt safe, because small and well locked up.

The lady running it is nice, you get coffee and a croissant in the morning. The rooms are cute and so is the hostel. The main problems are there is no air conditioning, and the bathrooms have no where to change after showering. Also the power consistently blacked out while I was there, which she said was due to some...

The owner of the hostel is very friendly and always willing to help you for example find the locations in the city. Sunshine hostel has very good location and it is super easy to find if you came from the main train station (termini). For example you can walk to the Colosseum and the other attractions. Rooms and bathroom were...

Hostel Sunshine is actually an apartment converted into a hostel. Rooms are spacious and clean. Wifi is great. However this is definitely not a suitable place for a family as there is only one bathroom for the whole hostel. Shower doors are transparent and toilet doors don't have locks which i found very weird. There is no common room as...

LOVED Sunshine Hostel!!! Myself and 2 friends arrived early on an overnight train from Venice, and Florinda let us check in/drop off our bags right away. Located in an apartment building close to the train station. Cozy rooms, clean bathrooms. Little backyard area. Has coffee and croissants every morning. Great Stay!!!

I stayed at Sunshine for 4 nights in October. It is cosy, central and the owner Florida looked after me and my friend. This is the perfect place to stay in central Rome, 10 minutes walking from Termini Station, very close to San Lorenzo artistic area. Highly recommended.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
