Excellent location, intimate feel, family friendly whilst having very good standard of service and amenities. The roof top terrace is a real treat which I doubt is available at many other hotels and certainly not in this price bracket. Very helpful staff too. An excellent find and genuine good value.

This is a great hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights and can't fault it. The room was clean and very spacious. There is tea and coffee and all the usual comforts of a good hotel. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times, which was...

The Independent is about one block from Termini, so it's an excellent choice if you're arriving by train and want a hotel that's close to a Rome Metro station. The front desk staff was especially friendly; everyone we met on the staff spoke English. The hotel is small and has a modern interior. Our room was very clean, modern, and...

I booked my husband to stay in the suites that are in the building next to the hotel. They didn't mention that construction was going on in the stairwells and rooms around him, so if you book those rooms (which have access to the hotel services but are not in the same building), be sure to inquire. Great location if...

The hotel itself is really nicely decorated and quirky! Our room is was big and clean! The staff were really friendly and...

The staff was super helpful and friendly. Valerio from reception was extremely helpful recommending excellent dinning places and walking the extra mile making sure we are very well taken care of wherever we go. He was always available and doing everything. Also, the two ladies from reception were very helpful. The roof top restaurant is an excellent place to chill...

Stayed here for 3 nights and chose it due to its close proximity to the train station. Perfect choice. Good walking distance to the sites. Also a great roof top restaurant and bar to gaze upon Rome from. Staff also pleasant and room kept very clean. Breakfast was simple but nice. Only challenge is their lift. Can wait forever. It...

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of March, we arrived slightly early but were greeted by very friendly staff. We were lucky to be upgraded to a room with a balcony, the views are great. The roof bar/breakfast dining area is a great feature, nice and relaxing with great views. The bar staff are great, always offering plenty...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
