Basic but functional, and owner very helpful. The area is a little down-at-heel and the road from the railway station wouldn't be out of place in Aleppo. However, the location is excellent with direct trains to the airport, central Rome, the Vatican and Civitavecchia (cruise ship terminal).

Firstly I must mention that my partner & I stayed at Barbara's other property as this one was full. A few days before our visit she messaged us with directions and photos of the new property which was great! As soon as we arrived she sat with us, gave us a map of Rome & talked us through all the... We had 2 rooms as we were a family of 4. Barbara is a lovely lady and everything was clean and safe. It was easy to get to the sights of Rome and to get to other places in Italy (main line station nearby too). The small kitchen was available all the time with a supermarket nearby so I was... More

My wife and I stayed at Barbara's other B and B Residenza Matteucci for a week because this one was full. Prior to our arrival Barbara emailed us the directions from the train station to the B and B including a picture of the front door making it very easy to find. Although there is a lot of graffiti in... More

I read the reviews prior to booking this B&B and felt it to be a great choice. My travelling companions had not and were a little concerned to say the least when we first arrived. There is a lot of graffiti in the area and when we arrived they were in the midst of some kind of job action around... More

My family stayed at B&B Barbara for 4 nights at the end of June 2016 and highly recommend a stay here if you are looking for good value in a comfortable, clean B&B. Situated in Rome's Testaccio suburb - south Rome, it is just across the Tiber River from the city. The suburb is a established area of inner Rome... More

We stayed at Casa Di Barbara from 3 April to 6 April 2016. Barbara is a perfect hostess! She kindly arranged transport to and from the airport and was there to greet us when we arrived at the accommodation. The information which she gave us about travelling around the city was brilliant and so helpful. The accommodation was perfect. There... More

Nice and clean place, perfect if you travel in a group of 7-8 persons. The B&B is situated in an area where you reach for example the Colosseum in 10 minutes with tram or bus. The three bathrooms in the apartement are equipped with all the things you possible could need, and the houst help you with all the information... More

Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
