1. bed mattress was very hard and lumpy. 2. shower hot water was tied to running the hot water in the sink. need to fix. 3. toilet seat was loose. 4. location provided walking distance to alot of attractions. 5. several good eating spots within several blocks. 6. staff was friendly and helpful.

I have mixed feelings for this place. Some things were very good, some not. Plus: - close to Metro 10 min walk to Colloseum and other attractions 10 min walk to Termini rooms 4 and 5 are big, and also quiet good wifi nice TV (but only italian channels) :) cheap for center of the Rome minus: very poor beds....

First off, the price is very cheap - you instantly see why as soon as you arrive. Though well located, close to Termini and the Colloseum, the inn is poorly signposted - we walked passed the doors. The reception area has a very bizarre smell, though the rooms are clean and ours didn't smell. Breakfast is very poor and we...

Myself and my two other 3ish friends visted from September 16-21st. First impression was not that good at all,it took 2 different taxis to find the place from the airport. Once we arrived it took about an hour to find someone to help us even find the entrance, and another 45 mins to get in contact with the owner. We...

Last minute break in Rome meeting up with family who were travelling across Europe from Australia. We really just wanted a room that was within walking distance of the sights. Booked flights and hotel together......flight got in close to midnight and on arrival (when we finally found the front door) found that last check in was 10pm....this was not mentioned...

Located just opposite the Vittorio Emanuele sqaure; which is also the nearest subway station. The location is perfect, Colosseum is a nice 10mins walk, even the Termini Station is walkable. Its at the corner of this bustling shopping street(or rather a portico), where you'll have to be very vigilant to spot the entrance/front doors. The street is noisy even at...

The was was quite alright, with a weird shower, took forever to heat, but there is no temperature control in the room, it was cold as Alasca!! the concierge was not in when we arrived, so we had to wait a while until he would show up, but the hotel is right beside the subway, so yes I would recomend...

This is a nice place located right by a metro which is handy. There is only a sign by the door which isn't visible unless you are looking for it but it is easy if you have the address. The staff were very friendly and helpful and moved us to a bigger room when it became available. The bed was...

I must have walked past this place 2-3 times, the only sign of Magic Inn is a tiny small plaque outside where the buzzers are, a good 10-15 minute walk from Termini, with an elevator but then you have to either walk down then up marble steps to get to the small front desk. Staff were very friendly and nice,...

I would strongly avoid this place at all costs! Very poor for the money. The staff are kind but the boss is unfriendly. On the service side... do not expect anything!!! You will take your breakfast standing in the entrance. But is it really a breakfast? You can always ring, nobody will open the door of the "hotel": that's normal,...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
