We stayed for 3 nights at La Zotta. We met both Pia and her son Stefano and both were amazing hosts. They worked with us last minute even though it took some room juggling after our vacation rental fell through the day we got to Rome. They were extremely sweet, it was a great location, very quiet, and close to...

My wife, son, and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at La Zotta. Three of its best features are 1. An ideal location: it’s just a very short walk from both the Campo De’ Fiori area and central Trastevere; and only a minute away from the buses that run on either side of the Tiber; yet the house is very...

We arrived at La Zotta after spending 12 nights on a cruise. What a surprise and perfect spot for us to stay while we spent the last 3 days of our holiday in Rome. We were met by Pia Pascalino and she was an absolute delight. Pia was easy to talk to and she made us feel so at home....

It's so hard to find a bed and breakfast in Rome that offers such character, comfort, cleanliness and hospitality. This is a family run business and you can tell that the owners genuinely want you to have a really enjoyable stay. In many other B&B's you get a feeling that it's all about turning over money, whereas here, Mrs Pascalino...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
