This apartment is located in the middle of the Jewish Ghetto and is a nice walk to any of the major tourist sites (eg Pantheon, Vatican City, etc). The apartment was spacious and clean. It is on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator so it is important to be able to walk steps). Martina was lovely. she arranged...

This B and B is well positioned for visiting the main sights. We walked to most of them and did not really use the 3 day transport pass we purchased. The room is functional and very clean. It is a little noisy outside garbage being removed at 2am plus it is an outside eating area so if you go to...

We just returned from a long weekend in Rome, Wednesday night through Sunday morning. We are from Israel, strictly kosher and Shomer Shabbat, so I did a lot of internet searching for a place that would be convenient from a kosher and Shabbat perspective. We stayed in a double room (the Black Room) at the Black & White Suites, in...

My husband, college-age daughter, and I stayed at the Black and White Suite in the Jewish ghetto in Rome for 3 days and 3 nights. We absolutely loved the apartment and the area, and we would highly recommend it! We ate 3 dinners and 1 lunch right on the block. One dinner place was below average. The other three were...

First the positives: + Situated in the pedestrianised Jewish Quarter, the suite has good access to restaurants and shops; and is quite close to the Colosseum, River Tiber and some other interesting archaeological sites. + The (double) room is really quite spacious and well decorated. + The bed was comfortable. + There were a lot of cakes and sweet pastries...

Thank you for your review that we found inspiring and helpful to improve the quality of our services. I wanted to clarify some points that you mentioned: Our structure can be found in the "Bed and breakfast" category and not in the "Hotels" one, so we are not obliged by our law to have our staff in the building 24h...

Sure beats the typical chain restaurant in this area. Service, food, and overall experience was really good. Salads, beef sandwiches and even kids grilled cheese were excellent. Will certainly be back.

If you keep kosher and/or shabbat, this is the perfect location in the Jewish ghetto. It is super close to supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, ice cream stores and more. It is also walking distance to Piazza venezia, via del corso for shopping, and many many other tourist attractions. We accidentally walked to the Pantheon, thats how close it is!...

We stayed in the suite which is in the Jewish Ghetto and is minutes away from the Coliseum and other attractions. Martine was incredibly helpful in providing everything we needed including a hot plate for the Sabbath. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very spacious. Highly recommended. We stayed at this place for three nights in August. Hi, Thank you for your email. Staying in Ghetto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ghetto
The mini-neigbourhood Ghetto holds tight to its reputation as a stand-alone area thanks to its nearly 300-year history as the home to Rome’s Jewish community. Times changed in the 20th century, but the tiny area still retains its mix of tradition, community, and history. Ancient and medieval architectural design frames apartments, bakeries, shops, and restaurants. Friends and families are the pulse of the neighbourhood, keeping company on the Via del Portico d’Ottavia. The Ghetto observes the traditional Jewish Shabbat: businesses close from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.
