We checked into hotel late at night. We expected to walk into a lobby and check in. Upon entry what should have been lobby area, we were approached by a Russian Tourist who warned that he reserved a room in a hotel listed at this location but which did not exist. There were no ready signs to the Floris Hotel. Another individual walked in and told us the hotel was on the fourth floor. Once inside the attendant was very nice. There was one room left and we took it. It was smaller than the one we reserved. We ultimately got the room we wanted. Staff was very accommodating. The rooms were relatively clean but ran out of towels at least twice. Be warned, the building is decrepit. The rooms are modern but not well-designed. There were two or three hotels with plaques in the lobby now out of business. It was unnerving walking into the building each day. However, as we learned, it is not uncommon to see multiple hotels situated on different floors of the same building. We've never know this business practice in the US. It would be less distressing were the building better maintained and hotels clearly labeled. We would have given fewer stars, except that the staff was so nice. The hotel is otherwise located in a very prime place within walking distance to Trimini station, and other sites, except for Vatican.…
Pro: Staff was amazing, from front desk to staff in charge of breakfast. Room was very nice and spacious, and clean too. Hotel is close enough to attractions without feeling like you're swamped by tourists, and convenient to Termini station. Almost everything about this hotel is great. Con: The entrance of this building is atrocious. The hotel is only one of the top floors of the building, and large part of the building seems abandoned, including the entrance. The entrance is dark and rundown, and the effect is completed with a constantly flickering light, and sometimes unhoused people hanging out there. I understand that it's a common space, but the hotel has to do something to fix the issue, even if it's just changing the lightbulb.
Hotel is located in four floor of the building. Rooms are renovated . Beds are clean and comfortable. Bathroom is clean but shower drain didn’t work properly. Breakfast is awful, all cakes and pastry are dry and old , too many bugs around breakfast area. I don’t recommend to get breakfast from hotel. Hotel location is good , close to old town , no need any transportation to go to old town, there some cafe , restaurant and mcdonald are close,
The room looks wonderful and is spotless, the staff is extremely helpful and polite and is a short 10 minute walk from Termini train station. However, the beds are made of concrete and you will hear every fart from the adjoining room which makes sleeping rather difficult.
Had a lovely stay at the Floris hotel, staff were all so friendly, facilities were good and the breakfasts were tasty. The location was ideal also, with everything you could want to see in Rome right on the doorstep! And all at such an affordable price!
Hotel is ideal for using public transportation . Metro stop is 5 minutes by foot and you have plenty options around the hotel for restaurants and coffee! Bus from Ciampino airport brings you 10 minutes far , and takes you at around 800meters, even early morning - first route 04:30! Room was spacious enough, normal cleaning and the staff was absolutely helpful and kind ! 100% value for money ! Recommended !
Our first experience staying in a building accommodating a separate hotel at each floor. We first were a bit surprised by such setup, but later found it curious and nice. I have rarely met such friendly folks in a hotel, probably because this is a family business. We felt ourselves at home. Everything was clean, convenient. Beware a very small elevator to the floor, but you will be quickly used to it. Otherwise very well done.
The Floris hotel is in a great location to visit Rome. We were able to walk to all the major attractions including the Vatican City. The central railway station is a short walk away and a metro station is also very close if you are not up for walking. The hotel itself is on the 4th floor of an old building and is the pick of the hotels also located in the building but you need to take note of the signage plaques on exterior of the building as the hotel location is not immediately obvious. The rooms have been renovated with a modern design and fittings and are very comfortable. The building itself could do with a refresh as the stairs are a bit dinghy and the lift is small and slow but still big enough for 2 people with luggage. Great breakfast and lovely staff. Also provided are drinks and pastries for free in the reception foyer during the afternoon. Our only disappointment was there were no English speaking channels on the TV which would be nice to keep up to date on news etc…
excellent location to explore Rome. Bus stop at the footsteps of the hotel, Reppublica Metro station just 1-2 minutes walking . The Nazional street is quite important for shopping and eating. service id good, rooms are quite newly renovated . breakfast food is minimum but good . the only bad comment is the building which is quite old and old elevator but which could be funny if you take it the positive way.
Great location and lovely breakfast. The building is terrible with horrible stairs and elevator. Friendly staff. A little disappointed with the rooms as it is a bit dirty and found a few bugs. It has good wifi and is near many good restaurants and termini station.
