We stayed from Sunday 14 to Tuesday 16 we have to change our room in the check in because they gave us a 3 bed room in a reservation that was booking 2 month ago for 2 adults and 2 kids, well no big deal, but the wifi never work, the people in the morning at the front desk are...

The hotel is in a good location with taxi stands, trams and buses right outside the door. Trams and buses take you downtown in 10 minutes for 1 euro 50. However - this place is noisy, noisy, NOISY !!!!! It's hard to sleep at night. The street is a main thoroughfare for tour buses, ambulances and motorcycles. Windows are not...

By far the best hotel we stayed at duirng our tour. Room was large, king bed which was vey comfortable, very clean. English channels on tv. Breakfast was good, tons of pasteries, eggs, ham, bacon etc. Nicely decorated. Wifi was a bit spotty. Towels were linen. Very curiously i could only find one outlet to charge my devices which was...

Room ok, friends had a room on the street side & it was noisy. Looks like hotel's visiting lots of students & they're noisy also outside of rooms after 23:00 o'clock. When busy in the morning for breakfast tables aren't ready also food missing for some time. When asked reception to prepare the bills separately for each room in advance...

This hotel is not in the centre but it's inside the walls. You have tram 5 and 14, right outside the Hotel door, which will take you to Termini station in about 10 min. There is also a bus stop, but we didn't use it. The metro station Manzoni, is about 8/10 min walk. San Giovanni is close and the...

Chosen as we were travelling with our twenty something son over 6ft so we wanted a decent triple room at a reasonable price. Disappointing then to be moved on the first night to a hotel round the corner with less than decent triple rooms. The staff were efficient and pleasant but not welcoming or friendly (unlike the hotel we spent...

Once we arrived at the hotel we were moved due to overbooking to a hotel near by for one night. When we returned to the Maggiore we checked in and the rooms were very good and spacious with plenty of storage. The room had a big bathroom which was let down by having a shower head which didn't mount the...

I came to this hotel as a capstone for a school trip. The hotel was OK at best. Pros: room was clean. Bed was comfortable considering it was 2 twins pushed together. Cons: Fan in my room didn't work. No air in my room. Shower was very very small resulting in taking a shower with the curtain stuck to you....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
