One of the things that I could hate more from a business is dishonesty, and we were constantly ripped off in this hotel. When booking online we secured a place, and when arriving at the hotel the lady said that she had to recharge us 16% more on taxes not included in the price. Later she refused to give us...

If you're just staying a night, this is would be bearable. Stayed for a night a couple of days back, and was told there was no aircon, in June.... The room window was facing a rubbish chute so I hesitated in opening it. It got stuffy and warm at night, felt like there was no ventilation. Hotel building was shared...

Me and my boyfriend had a really nice time at this hotel. It was great that it was so close to so many restaurants and also to the main train station. The staff was very friendly as well. We really liked our room as well and the price was reasonable. The only thing we didnt like was the 'included breakfast'....

Cramped with a microscopic bathroom, but clean and not uncomfortable. Affordable and they give you a chit to take to a nearby cafe to get a coffee and pastry for breakfast. The wifi cost extra and wasn't steady. It was extremely convenient to the Rome Train terminal and it wasn't horribly expensive unless you count the microscopic bathroom. Still, it...

We checked in and paid at the ALFA Hotel and after payment without our knowledge, we were brought down the block to Hotel Soggiorno Blu. The fan in the bathroom did not work and the walls and shower curtain were full of mold. There was a family staying across the hall with a young child who ran up and down...

Originally I had booked into the Hotel Rubino, of which I had seen some very poor reviews. I wrote to the operators of the Rubino and expressed my concern that my wife Susan is recovering from cancer treatment and if their hotel was as bad as some had written then I would cancel my booking as I needed for her...

I wish we had looked at the reviews on Trip Adviser before booking through ClickBuy as what is written here is exactly what happened to us. We carried our bags up to check in at Soggiorno Blu only to be told we were staying in another hotel, the Rubino, around the corner, one of 5 'hole'tels owned by the same...

We booked 2 months in advance. When we arrived they moved us to a different hotel down the street, the Hotel Rubina. They said it was the same thing. It was terrible. We had ants. The room door was constantly stuck. We had to carry our luggage up a thin flight of stairs. Our friends' room didn't have a toilet...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
