Palazzo Cardinal Cesi is a perfectly peaceful hotel in a most convenient location right next to St. Peter‘s. The staff is very helpful and friendly. A truly beautiful place to stay when in Rome. I can fully recommend this place.
Perfect place to be near entrance to St. Peter’s in the Vatican/ it looked like the closest you can stay. We loved that! We got up every morning to go to early mass and the opening of St. Peter’s. It is a typical Roman- type...More

Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as
visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.

we were on 4th floor facing the side street .some nights were more noisey than others all depending on what avents are taking place but even so it's not really that loud at all .The Windows are double glazed and you don't need to open them as the rooms have air con . I'm a very light sleeper and I had no trouble sleeping at all

I made a reservation for a shuttle service, $30 euro round trip. It was not private, it was shared ride about 6 other people. You can also get a taxi, not sure of the cost. Hotel is about 25 miles away from FCO. You can get a private car about $65.00 Euro one way, setup with the hotel. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip.
