The hotel was located by the Vatican. It was a stunning old building that had been very well modernised but keeping the period features. No restaurant but the breakfast was excellent and the bar very friendly. The staff were very helpful, organised taxis and checked us in for flights. Extremely comfortable. Not cheap but it was well worth the money....

My wife and I have stayed at the Cesi twice and would stay again the next time we are in Rome. Where else can you open your window in the morning and be greeted with a close up view of the dome of Saint Peters! Rooms are a bit small (it is Rome after all), but are very clean and...

I was here for 4 nights with a small group of friends before taking a cruise. We chose this hotel for its location and were very pleased with the accommodations, although the tiny bathrooms REALLY need updating. I have seen other reviews complaining about the noise. We did not experience any of those problems - perhaps some rooms open onto...

We booked a room at this hotel and from the start, the proprietors were helpful with information about nearby restaurants, Vatican visits, and much more. We had a twin room, which was clean and cheerful, and the breakfasts were great! We would have NO problem recommending this hotel to anyone who wants a taste of Rome and the Vatican. Walking...

Very nice and pretty. The garden area esp. pretty to look at while having a drink and snack from the bar. Our room was a 2-twin room, very nice yet small but we weren't planning to be in the room so weren't worried about that, would've liked a better view since we had no view at all just of an...

The hotel is just steps away from the Vatican. I believe the hotel was a monastery, which is interesting and unique. The hotel lobby area is an open-air garden where you can sit and have cocktails, breakfast, and dinner. It's beautiful and peaceful. The staff is exceptional and will do anything and everything to please their guests. The rooms are...

The place is astonishing. An ancient Building with a charming courtyard. Frescos on the ceiling. Rooms are very simple and essential. In the morning it's noisy and you cannot sleep cause cleaning service on the corridor which starts very early. Breakfast is ok but not quality food. Staff was professional.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
